God as bad as dedicated servers I remember P2P being so much worse. Dedicated is less reliable overall I know, and it can be infuriating, but I'll take it over the huge game breaking problems we had with P2P that ruined matches entirely.... keep in mind there are DC penalties now so those matches would be a nightmare that you are forced to endure, it would be just awful.
It's also easier to cheat, lag switch, and do all sorts of other crap.

The real issue here is dumb decisions to make hit detection client side instead of server side. If you're going to have dedicated servers, why the hell wouldn't you make all hit detection server side?

Hey man dont worry tmw they are gonna get on stream and "prove" that hit boxes are totally fine and that you are just seeing things and that it's not the servers fault you are getting hit 100 miles away just dodge the hit magically hello!?!?!?

Dedicated servers broke more than they fixed. In fact I don't think they fixed anything really. Half of the killer cast suffers from extremely game breaking issues due to them, for the simple fact this game was built to be P2P originally and isn't made around Dedicated Servers. Idk I never see anything good out of it, I get screwed over as killer and survivor more than I ever did in P2P.

Its called latency compensation, and every PvP game nowadays has it to avoid people with high latency being punished for it.

They already said that DC penalty cannot exist in P2P. Being able to DC because of match quality should be a choice, and not punishable.

Every PvP game? You're saying that League of Legends, Fortnight, Rocket League, Overwatch, PUBG, DOTA, and R6 Seige all have latency compensation that makes hit detection client side rather than server side?
Even ignoring the probability of that, are you saying it's better to punish other players for high latency instead of the player with high latency?

Shooter games have latency compensation. Its to prevent players from missing shots because of latency (you don't have to lead your shots according to ping).
This also explains why you sometimes get hit around corners, because on the screen of the opponent, you didn't fully get into cover yet.
Dbd is no different from that. Its just we notice it more, because we are used to peer-to-peer, and probably some poor netcoding added up to that.

Being someone that plays on Xbox and is the only platform to not have dedicated servers yet. I must say that p2p is perfectly fine and not that bad has people keep claiming it to be.
Especially where playing on console there seems to be an assumption that people have worse internet for whatever reason.
I like going in a game/lobby looking at the ping and knowing what to expect (laggy, maybe every once in awhile or no lag at all). Not have green ping and then have lag spikes out of nowhere or be hit 10 meters after vaulting a window. I'll pass on that

I don't know which servers I am connected to, but two days ago I started to notice that my ping was higher than usual, yesterday it was around 135. And today it was almost 300! Despite the fact that usually at this time of the day it is always green. Even when it is a little more than 100, I experience so much lags and teleports, like I can't even reach a gen 'cause it teleports me back multiple times. It seems that today I am being connected to Korean servers for some reason, when it should be German ones.
