Hey Devs, could we maybe get this implemented?
I welcome you to Scott Jund's, "Trial Warmup!"
I recommend watching this 5 minute video in its entirety to understand the full affect of what it offer, but a quick recap for those unable or unwilling...
TLDR: The "Trial Warmup" Begins at the start of the match, all generator speeds are slowed down by 50% or higher with possibly a nice visual map affect to signify the "Warmup" being active. This game state only changes on one of three conditions: A chase initiates, A survivor health state is altered in some way by the killer, or The killer comes within 4m of a survivor. A survivor that is first targeted by the killer is granted a "chosen" bloodpoint event in which they gain 1000 bp and could potentially become the obsession if the devs so choose. The main goal of this "Warmup" is to grant the much needed slowdown for killer early game that they need without affecting the natural slowdown they can induce once they begin in injuring and hooking survivor among other things, or touching generator speeds when the natural debuffs are applied. This change is to encourage killer and survivor interactions early game without making the game un-fun or overtly slow for either side, it as well gives killer with even weaker early games such as trapper, hag, etc. time to set up while killer with very strong early games like nurse, spirit, billy, etc. aren't affected as much because the debuff to gen speeds is removed once the killer comes in contact with a survivor in the way's mentioned above.
I would love to see this change implemented as it is the literal perfectly balanced and simple change dbd could benefit from without hurting any side or causing annoyance to either side as well. It encourages what makes the game fun and gives offers a change that allows killers time to get to their job of hooking survivors without having to worry about 3-4 survivors spawning together on the farthest gen with toolboxes and prove thyself and getting it to 100% or near that without them able to do anything.
I would hope the devs to see this, thank you for your time.

This was posted on the forums already and Peanits mentioned that the Devs(at least some of them) have seen the video. So there is hope something like this could be implemented!

i like this idea but i can already see toxic surv mains just running around to find the killer to end the warmup period as fast as possible.

Just ignore them or the killer gets a literal free hit and the pressure begins, this comment is mentioned in the video as well.

That can happen, but there was a suggestion that the warm up phase would end when a survivor came within striking distance. So either way the killer gets a first hit, rather than no first hit because you get ran by the best player in the match for 3 gens (Not speaking from experience >_>).

And who said you are forced to chase said person? Why not take the free hit and find someone else? Killer progressivism, dont chase... apply pressure!

I honestly don’t like this solution. It’s another band aid fix for the larger problems at hand. The current gen speed would be fine IF
A) Toolboxes were addressed
B) Map sizes were seriously looked at
C) ALL killers are able to have mobility to pressure gens on larger maps (if not fixed) or just get across the damn map before a gen pops
These are just a few, as I know there are more. Core issues need to be fixed. BHVR loves their band aid fixes, but this is the only way to truly get things where they need to be.

Map sizes will take forever to fix. This will be a great solution until then.

A and B are already being addressed.
Large(est) maps I think should have some dynamic element to them instead of flat out being removed. Like a smog of poison on one side of the map that slows gen progress by injuring anyone within.

As a survivor main.... this will not fix ANYTHING

Because the issue isn't on the survivor side, it's on the Killer's side. Gens can fly too fast in most games, this just gives some extra pressure at the beginning for the killers.

It will fix a lot actually. Just because you don't like the idea of not sitting your ass down on the gen the second the game starts doesn't mean it fixes nothing. It's perfectly balanced.

It fixes early game gen speeds, true but what happens when you get an AFK killer? You could spend the time looking for and getting within range of the killer sure, but what happens when we get the trolls who will wraith cloak and hide in a corner for the match? Not saying this will be a huge problem, but someone, somewhere, will do it.

That's why we need afk punishments.

Interesting idea.
But the real issue with DBD is the endless looping and dead stops to all chase. What the game needs is more variety in enviroments and varying affective interactiables for the survivors to use so they can't just run to a safe area/sweat loop in one direction one pallet long enough for 3 gens to get done.
Blood lust also needs to be fixed. At it's current state it might as well not exist. If blood activated so long as I have a visual on someone I was or still am chasing and got stronger if someone stayed in a very tiny radius of me to prevent time wasting and encourage actual attempt to utilzie enviroment and plays to get away. The actual chase and player interactions would increase dramatically.
All this warmup would do is either promote all teams to have a looper guy-who generally don't care if they get hit, let's be real, if they know what they're doing- and it would make the game feel very slow.
The CHOSEN idea is cool though and if it was combined with the OBSESSION mechanic and the chosen given some sort of actual downside it would have an interesting fear factor it and sense of tension. This set up would also further nerf totems since it's a perfect time to sneak around and break them.
Hex ruin is B+ tier right now. This would render it C.

Why not just make gens take longer to repair?

Bad idea. Never going to happen. So don't count on it :)

Then we put a time limit on it (Maybe between 80-100 seconds), or you sit through gens for a bit longer. It's as simple as that. Problems like these have simple fixes.
