PLEASE Fix Matchmaking

This is a screenshot of the scoreboard of a match I finished less than 5 minutes ago.
Look at that HORRENDOUS rank difference! I would not be surprised if that game was one of the first times that Plague had played killer EVER. Red ranks should not be matched with a rank 20. Purple ranks should not be matched with a rank 20. Green ranks probably shouldn't either!
Imagine you just start playing a game, and you're excited to play it, and then you get completely destroyed. That wouldn't be fun! That wouldn't make for a good experience! What do you think is the likelihood of someone like that continuing to play this game after a match like that? It's just cruel. They should be matched with people of similar skill so they can learn the game and slowly climb up in skill. They should NOT be matched with people of higher skill that know more about the game and how to play it, basically guaranteeing a bad and frustrating match on their end.
I wouldn't be bringing this up if this weren't a common issue either. Every other match I'm entering post game chat and saying something along the lines of "sorry matchmaking sucks" because I got matched up with a rank 17 or something. And it's horrible! I feel bad! I don't like that I'm being matched against people in rank 20 because then that means I'm part of the frustration that might lead someone to give up on this game.

Well, at least the guy felt bad. He wasn’t spamming you with the “GG EZ” nonsense that most internet trolls are fond of. Small silver lining, I know, but at least there is that.
I have a screenshot of something similar on my PC of going against four red ranks when I was rank 10 or 11. I actually killed them all (been in red ranks before), but had it been an actual SWF I would’ve gotten demolished. Yeah, matchmaking is very bad.

I think their user base is simply too small, and no one wants to play killer these days. They're not going to let people queue forever, so eventually their wait time hits a threshold in the algorithm, and they get dropped in with more and more rank disparity.
Unfortunately, the only fix for this is to get more players, and make both sides fun to play. But, I fear they're on a bit of a vicious spiral right now as people get frustrated and stop playing killer or quit, thus just making the issue worse.

In essence their own fixes are promoting the very reasons people are leaving the game or taking prolonged breaks. I dont play at all at the moment. One less purple ranked killer. They are gold in the game being in the middle since they can take on anybody.
Survs moan about que times. So they speed them up and then end up MM people like in the pic. But this is nothing new and has been goign on for years and years now. Are they goign to fix it as they say they are? I amnot goign to hold my breath knowing this has been an issue for as long as the game has been out.

@fleshbox they aren't going to fix, they're going to hide it. You'll not be able to see the ranks, and just always assume every time you won, you may not have deserved it, or every time you lost, its because they didn't deserve it.

Would it not be funny if in the end all they did was to hide the ranks and not do anything in the back-end? Thus making everybody think they actually did something?

I afk'd a lot of matched down to rank 9, still matched up with rank 2 - 3 survivor squads :P

people need to realize way too many people have hit red ranks, alot of red ranks would actually be 10-15, they cant lead on chases, they dont do gens and they hide most the game... its down to rank issues of survivor being too easy to pip without doing good chases etc. everyone is red rank now and thats the issue not lack of players
