Lack of animations on characters
I find it both hilarious and sad that dbd is so full of charm and personality but at the same time lacks in both. We get brutal finishers for killers, but all we get is blood and no bits of flesh nor disfigured body parts, the characters remain the same throughout the animation. When survivors hang on hooks, they scream in fear but their mouths remain closed.
What I try to say is, I would love to see the devs to take the time necessary to polish the animations. I believe it would really do wonders for the overall look and feel for the game. What do you think?

If they show gore it could get banned in Germany and stuff.

Their mouths open when they scream, at least on Xbox. And the devs have said they try not to make it too gory so the game will be avaliable in all countries.

It’s also difficult to show dismemberment and such- they’d have to edit the actual skeleton of the survivors which then can cause some other issues - I believe they already did such a thing with clown’s Mori where they had to edit the skeleton to have removable fingers just so the clown could remove one. It’s an extra hassle that’s not necessary especially since more gore-sensitive countries may ban the game (just as @WTBacon stated)

Hmm. I did not consider that gore may raise an issue of ban in some countries. I mean, isn't gore just part of horror games and movies and it's not like they don't have those in Germany.

Fun fact: no they didn't touch the Survivor skeletons, their finger just shrinks down when the Clown "cuts it".

Yes and no, there are different aspects of horror, example if you watch Scream there’s no extreme gore, just a few cuts and stabs where as if you watch Evil Dead 2013 there’s a lot of gritty stuff which can be disturbing

Yea China and Japan ban any game that has extreme violence, games like mortal kombat aren't available there due to it's nature the same could happen if DBD decides to go that route they'd lose a massive part of the Asia community.

What ? Outlast is a hell of a lot more gory than dead by Daylight and you can still play it in germany

dont a bunch of killers still lack backwards walk animations or am i just thinking of moonwalk freddy/myers

You can’t imagine how many years I ask developers to engage in serious animation. But they always stubbornly ignore such posts. It feels like they don't give a damn what their game looks like.

It is enough to issue a DLC with a dismemberment and prohibit the purchase where this dismemberment is prohibited.

Must have been someone else’s assumption where I got that from, thanks for informing me! That’s super interesting
