    I think having 2 different routes to success would be nice, because it would

    1. Provide variety from simply repairing gens all the time
    2. Make matches longer since some survivors would start with gens and others would start with the alternate tasks.
    3. Allow for a wider variety of new perks.

    This option or the one above it (something optional but worth doing) would both be good. That way one game you can focus on one thing and if you get bored of that then the next game you can do something else. Instead of just doing gens all the time without variety. I think adding a whole new type of objective and win method would take a lot more work and balance issues even though it'd be way cooler, so I'd be willing to settle for an ACTUALLY GOOD secondary objective and not some dumb ######### like totems or hooks (sabotage)

    Just an idea for a secondary objective that's kind of a mix of both options: Busted down vehicles around the map that you can siphon gas from into gas cans, and then put the gas in gens to give them a progress boost. If you get hit with a gas can you drop it and the killer can empty it on the ground. Empty cans spawn around the map. It takes some time to siphon the gas and pour it, but the idea is to have more moving around than sitting still with this objective. With this being added to the game you have the option to exclusively repair or exclusively siphon and refuel or a mix of both. So it's kind of like having another main objective but without actually adding a whole new thing to the game. I'm not going to say any specific numbers since this is just more of a brainstorming idea plus I don't really know what would be balanced anyways.

    To be honest i dont think another set of objective would be better. How you wish they would add something like this to the game? Add second game-mode and divide community even more and making queue time even longer? Or make 1 game mode but with 2 routes to win? If we go this way... it will just favor even more premade groups, as they can communicate through discord for example.


    Lets imagine we can this gas can + vehile and gens + gate. In lobby we try to be cool and we all agree that we gonna do gens. But in the middle of the game killer camp gens and ignore gas cans, so we wanna change tactic... but hey, there is no chat. So no, its not good idea.


    Also imagine killer : at start of the game they have 7 gens to patrol, and its already way too much. If we add another 7 things for killer to look after... then 1 killer is not enough. Simple as that, and for me this is main reason why we dont have 5 or 6 game modes :P

    One of the ideas I’ve thrown out there in the past was to add in a timer system. My original idea was for a new game mode, but this could work as an alternate objective as well.

    Basically, as the match progresses, dawn approaches. If survivors can make it till the sun is up, they survive! The killer though, he wants to make them “Dead by Daylight!” The sun takes and ridiculous amount of time to rise, but survivors can drastically speed it up by repairing crumbled sundial relics around the map (alternate objective!)

    I don’t think that would be good. Good survivors play immersed when they know the hatch is the only way out. The only difference is they all are immersed so they’re harder to find

    Though you’re correct, I don’t necessarily see that as a bad thing. The whole idea of “Boldness” in a horror survival game has always seemed rather strange to me anyway. This would reward players for more careful actions.

    Nonetheless, this would act as more of a safety net. Maybe they get themselves into an impossible 3-gen situation. Now they have the option to try to speed up the timer instead!

    This has been proposed a lot of times before, but I think NOED should be base kit with a totem counter added in the HUD, make the totem cleanse action take a bit longer and reward more BP
