Balance Without Add-Ons

Killers need to be balanced around not having any add-ons. Most are overwhelmingly reliant on add-ons, when add-ons should be just that - additional passives and tweaks. Right now, add-ons serve largely to just increase a killer's power from where it is to what it should be (in the case of most browns and yellows, and some greens).

Just implement add-on improvements into killers' base kits, and make add-ons actually make significant changes to their powers and how they work (similar to some of the Doctor's or Hag's quirky add-ons). This is a pretty viable way to make killers slightly stronger across the board without having to fine-tune them all, and make killer add-ons more enticing to use.

---Examples---

  • Thompson's Moonshine: Allows for considerably better steering in terms of how reactive it is, but Billy tends to swerve side to side - making straight paths more difficult.
  • Award-Winning Chili: Downing a survivor with Leatherface's chainsaw resets the duration of the chainsaw while keeping its current acceleration - allowing him to chain downs.
  • Light Chassis: Makes Leatherface wave his chainsaw in a larger arc.
  • Jewelry Box: After Myers goes 15 seconds without stalking a survivor, his Evil Within begins to slowly regress. The time required to reach Tier 3 is slightly increased. The duration of Tier 3 is tremendously reduced. Survivors are no longer exposed while Tier 3 is active. Evil Within Tier 2 is bypassed when increasing from Tier 1 and regressing from Tier 3. This allows Myers to regress back to Tier 1 to utilize stealth mechanics, while allowing him to use the speed and lunge-distance of Tier 3 when survivors are caught in the open.

*By the way, can we seriously reduce the effectiveness of toolboxes a little bit?

I have always been an advocate that all killers should be viable and good without the need for add-ons; and that add-ons should only 'alter' the gameplay of a killer, not make or break them. A rank 20 newbie killer with no add-ons should be just as dangerous and deadly as a killer with add-ons that change different aspects of their playstyle. It should never be the case where if you do not have an add-on for that killer, you may as well not play them.
