The Australian rebellion for ping.
Join me. we shall invade the server being forced upon us and sandbag/kill everyone in sight until were returned to our land. Our land was peaceful and thriving until the devs attacked. 200+ ping to the east and 150+ ping to the west. With our combined might we will strike a discussion to happen and make the people of this foreign server complain and join our quest as well. Spread the attack plan my brothers.

@Fibijean @DudeDelicious wbat do you guys say?
I was fine on the East Coast. Yellow and red pings were still playable. Now with dedicated servers, it's only gotten worse. I've had more jumps than the average hurdles race and it's driving me crazy.
Never had terrible problems before, but now if I have a fan on in the same room, it completely screws my game.

I'm East Coast, on PC, and my ping is usually somewhere in the 40-80 range - sometimes a bit lower, sometimes a bit higher. Far more stable than it ever was on peer-to-peer. As far as my personal experience goes, the servers are a dramatic improvement.
EDIT: When I say East Coast, I mean literally in the same city as the server, so that could have something to do with it.

Are you more north east? Because all of east has 150+ with nbn. Friends also have nbn west side reporting 200. You can’t get better internet and I’m reporting from console btw

As I said in my comment, I'm in Sydney. One of the places I play at has NBN, the other doesn't, I get much the same ping at both. I am on PC, as I mentioned, so that might make a difference.

Where do they say the servers are based in Sydney. I have 50- ping connecting to any Sydney server. But dead by daylight can give over 200 sometimes, it’s not local at all. My friend mentioned it could be Singapore servers. You’re a rare specimen that’s somehow getting local ping. It could just be pc like you say. But not sure. Need a devs answer.

I'm in Gosford. We're under water again, btdubbs, so that might have something to do with it. I'm also on console if that has anything ti do with it.
I'm also on NBN and I've had dips. Might just be a proximity to server thing.

Says it right here, in the Dedicated Servers Status Update from last September:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/87216/status-update-dedicated-servers
There's only one server in Australia, and it's in Sydney. The system will always attempt to connect players to the server with which they have the lowest latency, which should be the Sydney one unless you're in very specific places on the west coast, in which case Singapore might be slightly closer. So it's not rare to get local ping - everyone I know, who is either in NSW, VIC or QLD, gets similar ping to me. I'm unsure why the discrepancy exists where you're getting ping that's so much higher - the only thing I can imagine is that it has something to do with platform, since that's the only uncommon factor.

The water would probably affect it, because things like that do mess with wifi signals. But your ping to a Sydney server should be great, based on your location. I know people in Brisbane with great ping. The only explanation I can think of is that consoles somehow have a harder time with it than PC. Maybe because the infrastructure is newer and they're still ironing out the kinks?

It only started raining again tonight. Seems to have let up unlike two weeks ago.
But lately, I've had a frigging FAN affect my games during the switch. I want to say it's a "we've just switched over" issue, but this is Microsoft we're talking about.

Three cheers for Microsoft, pioneers of stable software 🎉
