The Deathslinger may be too similar to The Huntress.
The newest killer, The Deathslinger, has the ability to fire a harpoon that damages and hinders survivors and allows the killer to pull the survivor to himself. The Huntress has the ability to throw hatchets that damage and possibly hinder survivors. They both suffer when using their ability, and their abilities are primarily used to damage and inflict harmful effects to survivors a distance away, or to finish chases quicker. The main difference between the characters to me is that the Deathslinger is easier to play, he can reduce the distance that the survivors are from him, and that he is penalized more for missing. Also, when I actually played The Deathslinger, the experience I had felt the same as when I am playing The Huntress. Most of the tactics I use while playing The Huntress were effective on him as well. To make them more different, I would suggest reducing his range, reducing his projectile speed, increasing the speed survivors are reeled in, increasing his punishment for missing, and increasing the reward for successfully harpooning a survivor.
I know this is a bit early to ask for changes, but I wanted to get my opinion out there. Also, keep in mind that I do not know everything about this killer, I just formed my opinion from what I have seen so far in-game.
What do y'all think about his new ability?

It sounds like you want to make his gun worse at hitting things. Not sure I approve of that.

I don't remember him throwing hatchets

Keep in mind that basic attack perks work with his power. That in itself is a big advantage over huntress.
