Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

After 2 Survivors have been unhooked while 24 meters or more away from you, future hooks grant 5% haste for 10 seconds.

After 3 Survivors have been unhooked while 24 meters or more away from you, all Survivors are exposed and thus basic attacks will instant down them even if they are healthy.

After 5 Survivors have been unhooked while 24 meters or more away from you can directly Kill them. This works exactly like a Mori offering.

If the totem is cleansed all of these effects immediately go away.

Devour is a very insidious perk. If people don't realize you have it or you are good at protecting your totems, it can win you entire games.

Your explanation is above for how the perk works, but i'll explain it a bit more below if you're still curious on how useful the perk is. On Killers like Billy or Spirit, Devour Hope can be an insane good perk to have, since both Killers can down and hook Survivors fairly quickly, depending on how good those Survivors are against you that is or vice versa.

If you manage to get 3 stacks with Devour Hope than you can start M1ing people and insta-down them with the exposed status effect, which usually gives you a free down and gambles the last stack on if you can get 5 to Mori a Survivor or not.

If you're lucky, you'll have 5 stacks and can start Mori'ing Survivors without an Ebony or Ivory Mori being burnt pre-match! The main difference this perk has to NOED is that NOED requires all Generators to be activated and have at least one Dull totem left to project itself onto it, making it a Hex totem when NOED is active. Now, to me Devour Hope is more rewarding since you earn the stacks and get the exposed effect through your own effort, while NOED just activates no matter what if 5 Generators or done, which is where the "It rewards failure" mentality comes in, since the perk usually does help Killers that're... not the best out, which isn't a bad thing, but it turns into a crutch after awhile if used too much.

With Devour Hope is more "fair" I suppose? Since you can break it early and it won't really be sought after unless found by accident, so you can usually get a sneak exposed hit off and a lucky gamble to get 1 or 2 or even 3 Mori's if nobody finds the Hex before that happens.
