Shroud of Binding

I can't begin to understand the purpose of this thing. Almost every single time I see one of these here is what I see happen in that match:

  • Killer knows exactly where to go to find someone immediately because everyone is in the same place
  • Killer gets one takedown and hook relatively quickly because it was basically fish in a barrel
  • Since everyone was still fairly close you have at least one if not two other survivors that are going to stick close by waiting to unhook. This means there are 3 survivors not working on gens
  • Killer is likely going to take one of these two down because they are staying too close jockeying for the best position to be the one to get the unhook
  • The third survivor is going to swoop in triumphantly for the unhook while killer takes second downed survivor to a hook
  • These two are going to go around a corner somewhere to heal the survivor that just got unhooked
  • They are going to go back and play the same jockey for position game waiting to be the one to get those all important unhook points
  • All that time you have had at least 2, if not 3, survivors that haven't even touched a gen
  • Process repeats itself

Over the course of the last few days I have kept track in my matches of how many times a shroud of binding was played and what the results of the matches were compared to matches where it wasn't played. I've played 81 matches in that time. Binding has been played in 24 of those matches. Of those 24 matches 18 resulted in a 4k for the killer. That's 75% of the time Binding resulted in no survivors escaping. That leaves 57 matches where it wasn't played. In those 57 matches there were 17 matches that the killer got a 4k. That's just barely under 30%.

I realize even 81 total matches is a small sample size, but when I see the result of playing Binding in those matches resulted in killers get a 4k 45% more than not playing it I really have to wonder what advantage is supposed to be gained by playing one.
