Is it just me, or is this key challenge horrible?

I've tried for hours and hours and hours to no avail. I'm so ready to throw my computer out a window. And bounce it off the head of the guy who thought this was a good addition to the tome challenges.

Not just you. It sucks doing it because the killer is just going to tunnel you for having a key and on top of that, finding the hatch can be really hard on some maps after finishing the required amount of gens.

Going against survivors doing the challenge as Killer is awful too, keys almost every lobby.

Level 4 has a challenge that requires the Killer to mori survivors too.

Idk what tf they're thinking tbh or even listen at all.. people complain about keys and mori's a lot and now they basically promote unfun gameplay from both sides by making players use this broken stuff.

... This is literally the easiest challenge in the tome... It should just say "Abuse Free Win Mechanic Twice"... I got it done in 2 games. Do you really not know where the hatch spawns on most maps?

Play solo and use the bill perk to see hatch as last survivor. You will get it. Good luck

Someone doing key challenge is bad for everyone in that lobby as killer will most likely bring most powerful addons with mori and tunnel everone off the hook.

If ques werent so bad I would dodge my team mates if they had key as I know the round most likely isnt going to be fun.

Here is a short guide to completing the Key Challenge.

Steve w/ Skeleton Key OR Dull Key (Gold Token, Prayer Beads)(Unles you don't have like a high amount of keys - like me, then Just take Milky Glass, and Weaved Ring).

Iron Will / Left Behind / Spine Chill / Dead Hard

    • Anytime the Spine Chill glows, go hide. Around a corner, in a locker, idc just the least likely place the killer is gonna look. It's easier if you play killer and know the likely places killers look.
    • Use your key to track where other survivors are, and rush gen's by working on gens with one more people.
    • Try to take the safest place on all gens furthest from the killer, so that the other survivors get chased first off gen. You have SC so you will normally always know when the killer is coming first (no killers actually avoid spine chill).
    • When there are 4 generators left on the map (2 needed to be completed), look for the hatch. IF you don't know where the hatchs are you can find guides on line where they normally spawn, look for the most recent guides. Otherwise they are pretty easy to remember after playing the game a while.
    • Then when you find the hatch, leave.

    Easy.

The reason why I picked steve is because in the lobby all of his cosmetics block the key. It clips into his pants in the lobby so the killer doesn't even know it's there. There also is no indication he is holding an item, unless the killer has like eagle eyes (which they don't they are distance from the campfire), but really you can do this with any Killer - they most likely won't find you anways.

I tried for hours the first day with no luck. Played about 2 hours the next day before I got the first one and got the second one less than an hour later. Bringing a key just seemed to get me tunneled. I used Plunderer's to find a key. I typically found a key every 3-4 matches. I tried the Left Behind perk, but either I was always never the last alive, or the second guy would sandbag me on purpose. There were very few escapes that day. It was a rough day to be a solo queue survivor.

Second day was a bit better. I think one escape was after all gens were done and the second was a found hatch with Left Behind escape.

Either way, it was way more trouble than it was worth.I would have wasted two dozen keys had I brought them in every match trying to get this.

I am so glad it is done.

For you maybe. It certainly was not for me. I have a decent idea where hatches spawn, but there are lots of spawn locations. All the other survivor challenges in the Level 3 Tome combined probably took about the same amount of time for me to finish as that one 2 key hatch challenge.

Imagine insulting someone like that for saying something that is fundamentally true.

Literally all you have to do, if you really just want to get it done quick, is cheese it. Hide all game, let your team die, follow the killer as they look for hatch (which they will, and will almost never look behind them as they are looking for it), let them close it, use your key. Literally can be the easiest challenge.

personally i did it in 2 games with plunderers equipped.

try not to get into chases while you're doing it, you need to outlive your team after all - or get to the endgame.

and honestly, dont enter the trial with a key. you will be focussed down by the killer in that case, just so you wont open hatch.

He directly insulted someone without calling them out as well. Obviously he's a coward and should be the one who get's ignored. In addition if he's just here to call people idiots he won't last long either.

Equip "Left Behind" perk. Easy peasy, lemon squeezie

Left Behind, Iron Will, do gens to 2 gens and then hide all match
