What counts as a ‘great height’?

I’ve been trying to get the challenge, fall from a great height while being chased and I could only get 1/2 when using balanced landing on Springwood. Does it need balanced landing to complete the challenge? I’ve vaulted from the Shrine on the Yamaoka Estate, fell from a Haddonfield house and dropped a level in The Game, all while in a chase, no “Escaped” score points present and it just hasn’t worked... is this a bug? I’m not sure.

Edit: Thank you for all the comments, I have since gotten it but only while on Ormond - but thank you in any case 😄

I jumped off the 1st floor of Ormond in a chase twice and got it.

    Basically anything 1st floor.

Has to be balanced landing height most likely. Because I dropped from one of the windows on harvester on coldwind where balanced doesnt activate and it didn't count

I've jumped from heights that activated balanced landing and it doesn't work. I'm still at 0/4 after 10 attempts.

It seems to work from about one storey or more. I got it on Haddonfield, jumping from the second floor of houses, so it sounds like your problem might be either a bug or that you weren't in a chase when you hit the ground. If chase music was playing and you hadn't got the "Escaped" score event by the time you hit the ground, it should have given you progress on the challenge.

No clue about the actual numbers but I've had both jumping off a hill and down the basement stairs count.

So you don't have to jump down the vat on The Game or anything like that 😄

i always thought it was any height that makes you stagger when you fall. i put on the haddonfield map to do that challenge and just got the killers attention while i was upstairs then looped him in/around that house a couple of times to complete the challenge. fall, run back upstairs, fall again, run back up stairs..

IIRC it has to do with stumbling on landing. If its high enough to get the max stumbling penalty, its enough. Could also be bugged because well wouldn't be the first time. I'd just use a haddonfield offering and drop off a roof in a chase to be sure.

You can’t touch anything on the way down. Hills have sloped sides you touch on the way down. House windows do not.

Orange tractors have pieces you touch on the way down. Yellow tractors do not. Get it?

I struggled with this challenge too the first time I did it.

Any fall that makes you stumble counts. Most often the problem (in my case) was that it wasn't actually a chase. Try to go for it when the Killer is -right- on your tail and you will get it. Several times I jumped and the Killer opted to just abandon the chase and I didn't get the points.

    Good luck! ^_^

I'm pretty sure anything that activates Balanced Landing is considered falling from a great height since Balanced Landing has the exact same requirement. Chances are that challenge is bugged because of the chase requirement. The chase system in this game is so ridiculously broken. And the fact that the most popular killers nowadays have unorthodox audio cues sure as hell doesn't help the problem. If you really want to garuntee you get the challenge progress, then wait till the killer is ridiculously close to you, but not close enough to you to get the hit as that would end the chase. You pretty much have to have the chase going before the fall starts and after it finishes which is difficult because a number of things can break it, especially on killers with a smaller terror radius.
