NOED Rebellion-Response to Ruin Nerf

Hello people of The Fog,

I am a survivor main, but I also play killer occasionally. While I do agree that Ruin needed to be nerfed, I don't agree on how it was implemented, like much of the community. Since it's a hex totem, it's benefits are lost rather early in the game, even though the devs meant for it to have more use in the late game. Also since it regresses the gens automatically, most of the other gen stopping perks (Pop Goes, Overcharge, etc) are unable to be used in tandem with it. As a result of the faster gen speed, many killers are taking part in the "NOED Rebellion", where they are using NOED in every single game they play until the devs cave and Ruin is fixed. I've also noticed a significant increase in facecamping, tunneling, and other toxic behaviors since the change. I am aware that the devs have said that they are not reversing the Ruin change. So instead, I have a few suggestions on how to either make the new Ruin make more sense or to alleviate the effects of the NOED Rebellion. Because it's become clear to me that we cannot continue this way. In order to make the new Ruin make more sense, I suggest simply making it as a regular perk instead of a hex perk and nerfing the regression speed to a certain degree so it's not overpowered with it being unable to be removed. If this is not possible, I suggest making the exposed status effect of NOED only last a limited time, like Haunted Grounds. Perhaps 30/60/90 seconds depending on the level. I would suggest keeping the haste status effect last until the match is over, though. What does everyone think?

I think NOED should in all honesty just be a baseline killer ability. HEAR ME OUT, it would MAKE survivors do totems, make them gtfo at the end game, it would have the same, if not a better effect than old ruin, if you play against a good survivor team, NOED WILL be gone, it will teach new survivors to watch out for bones, Or they'll save the last totem just to blue ball you before you get your first down with it (totally didn't happen to me when doing archive challenges... not at all /s). Games don't last long anymore, 4 to 6 minutes if just 2 people pump gens out, 15 max if they dick around or 3 gens themselves, those are the games the killer gets more than 1k while Playing Fair, if the survs dick around and do bones, search chests, actually interact with the game, and most Importantly, the Killer, it becomes a more full experience for everyone. We've all had games as Survivor and Killer where we either never see the killer, or even some of the survivors, because they Just Did Gens and Nothing else, which just doesn't sound like fun.

Its not until end game, when you either are forced to camp, or brought NOED that you see the whole crew and they ALWAYS have BT or DS. What many call toxic tunneling/slugging is the only viable way to slow the game down without old ruin or NOED, its not fun for the people that get tunneled first, but its the only way to slow the game down enough to get kills above green ranks. Killers are just learning they are there to kill, not worry about the others feelings. And when survivors bring a mix of BT, DS, DH, spring burst, the new insta-heal, and the new sabo, after March 10th, shits going to get a lot worse.

Other than Gens, the survivors only other obj is to gtfo and do bones, and some Always ignore the bones, unless they implement a last man standing BP bonus for that Lone Survivor movie cliche to encourage some hilarious sandbagging for the entity, then frustration on the killers behalf is just going to continue to worsen. When survivors get chased, when they do their 360s, flashlight saves, or sandbag with friends, they are having a great big laugh, the Killer on the otherhand, is having the most frustrating time of their lives trying to kill just 1 person, because no matter what they do, gens will pop, and giving up on a chase is not an option for some people, they want to see to it they can't be bested, and Any Killer should not have to be screwed over chasing just 1 experienced survivor, simply because there is 3 more and they can each have the potential to loop as good as the last. The only time gens don't get done is below rank 15, but because deranking and matchmaking is whack we just never know anymore. The new MMR system will fix a lot of things, but worsen others, the one bad thing it will make easier is people that purposfully de rank will have a breeze.

For most killers now, getting kills against a good team while playing "fair" is literally impossible.

I like this idea as long as the number of totems are added to the HUD. Then increase time to cleanse a totem from 14 seconds to 20 seconds. I know a lot of killer mains who don't like the idea, and a lot of survivor mains who LOATHE it. But it'd create the second objective we need so badly. Survivors wouldn't HAVE to do them if they didn't want to. But then they risk NoED.

Also, I've totally been working on a totem (the only one done in the entire game) and by the time I finished the last gen pops and I get 1500 points for cleansing NoED instead of a Dull Totem. The killer left and took the DC penalty not long after.

NOED needs to be removed as long as there isnt any change for a killer input.

I think NOED is fine and Ruin should revert back. I am a survivor main who uses NEITHER when playing killer, BTW. Hope that puts things into perspective.

Ruin was an overly passive perk that was both inconsistant yet could be obnoxiously abusable. This 'NOED Rebellion' is stupid and a farse - people have been using NOED long before the Ruin change, and it was obvious it was still going to be spammed. The reason is because most killer players suck at the game. Why have pressure on gens when perks like Old Ruin and NOED exist. How about learning how to play at a skillful level? NOED is most likely going to be altered - and i've shared ideas on this on how to make it earned - or at least, it should be. Ruin is a great perk now, it rewards killers for playing the pressure game well. NOED however grants the potential for rewards for any killer player losing the game whilst luckily having a dull totem still up. DBD needs a shake up with it's attitude - players should be encouraged to learn the skill that all mechanics have. Not just cruise by ranking up with minimal effort, wrecking the matchmaking and warping statistics in the process. No wonder it feels like the devs are on the back foot with the new changes coming. Players moaning and warping the aspects of the game to suit the 'I struggle with this so change it' attitude is embaressing. I'm saying this in a very direct way, so it may sound rude, it isn't, it's just delivered with passion. I'd love to have DBD in a state where ranks mattered again and people who are in reds actually play with experience, intelligence and skill. Lower ranks should always be filled with lower skill players, a massive shock, I know. So when things are called for changes in a negative direction, the people calling for it and those agreeing with it should be aware they are being selfish and childish, plain and simple.
