Is this part of Entitys tricks?
On deathslingers lore it says:
"At his feet, he saw a dusty path, and, at its end, silhouettes of all who had done him wrong: the boys who bullied him, the executives who took advantage of him, and, again... Henry Bayshore. Emerging from a fog were the tools to dispose of them — unforgiving steel hooks, brilliant and beautiful in their simplicity. Pain tore through his leg as he stood, but he endured, pushing onwards, walking the dusty path, leaving a trail of blood flowing behind him."
Does this mean that the Entity can make killers hallucinate? He thinks he is seeing people he hates but are in fact not?

If you think about it, his eyes looks very weird... As if he blind or something.

And thus the plot thickens...
Why do you think the Spirit is so angry when she hunts survivors and slices them repeatedly during her mori? The Entity promised her revenge on her dad... Oh wait... Yeah, if you're thinking she's seeing her dad in the survivors; bingo, we have a winner.
Also, super fun fact that all but confirms this theory, both the Spirit and the Deathslinger have a very distinct white glow to their eyes, unlike any other killer (yes Wraith and Billy have it too but Wraith was heavily tortured and Billy kills everything and anything, most likely just aesthetic). They are seeing LIES...
Final note that again, confirms this theory: the Spirit and Deathslinger have no signs of torture on them, whereas the Trapper and Hag are super messed up. Difference between these two parties? The eyes... One group was beat down to serve the Entity, the other is being manipulated by an illusion... Plus, the Pig and Legion both have normal eyes and no signs of abuse. They want to be here and they didn't have to be convinced.

You have some good points. I've always wondered about killers The Spirit who have personal grudges and only want to kill certain people. Why do they just attack anyone? Rin only wanted to kill her dad. This explanation makes sense

Hmm, hillbilly and wraith also have flashing eyes, does that mean they are also being controlled by the entity?

I explained it here:
"(yes Wraith and Billy have it too but Wraith was heavily tortured and Billy kills everything and anything, most likely just aesthetic)"
THe glow from the Spirit and Deathslinger are distinctly different.

What about the Doctor? His eyes glow too, and we can assume that the headgear he wears is self inflicted.

I read that more as a "life flashing before your eyes" kind of thing. With the vision of fog and hooks being his traversal into the Entity's realm after he died.
That said, it's entirely possible the Entity made him see them.

Different type of glow, you can even customize it in the store too. It's an electricity based thing. Plus, you can see his pupils. Traditionally, if someone wants to convey some form of mind control or illusion in a character, the characters' eyes are glazed over like Rin and Caleb's are.
When I read the piece, the mentioning of silhouettes directly parallelled what it is like to be in a killer lobby in my mind. I'm pretty sure it's intentional and we know that the Entity is fond of mind games (Zarina's lore, etc). I'm sticking to my original post since it seems to be the path the devs are taking with the lore.

It was strongly hinted in a dev stream the head gear isn't his doing

Where? Which stream?

It's one of the lore Q&A
