Should survivors get the advantage to escape hooks or killer grasp?

Me and a friend play on Xbox. Many many times we have hit our DS or finish wiggling right as we get hooked. How many think it should work in the survivors favor where you get to wiggle out or get to use your decisive when you get it right at the hook?

If I understand correctly, you're talking about a very specific situation where you get hooked at the same time your wiggle far is full/you hit the DS skill check but it doesn't work because the hook was practically in front of the killer.

So, first, about the wiggle: No. If the bar isn't full, you shouldn't be getting off. If it really bothers you that much, use perks that can help you with wiggling. Also, escaping the Killer's grasp by wiggling is rare, as it would require coordination with some requirements: Where were you downed? Have the hooks in that area been sabotaged? Are you using perks to help you with that? Are your teammates planning to take a hit for you or use a flashlight to try and save you? So yeah, most of the time: if you go down, you get the hook.

Second, about the DS being cancelled because you got downed right in front of a hook... well, I have mixed feelings about this. I mean, it shouldn't be like that... if you have DS ready and you get picked up, as long as you hit the skill check, it should ALWAYS work. On the other hand, if you are running Decisive and you're about to get downed, you should keep a minimum distance from hooks to avoid that situation. Tho this can still happen in dire situations and I agree it feels annoying/cheap. IMO, the skill check should appear at the exact same moment when the Killer begins to pick you up, and not when you're pretty much already in their shoulders.

So my final answer is a mix of yes and no, if I understood correctly what you asked.
