Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Change to disconnection penalties

So I have had a couple of games tonight where my WiFi decided to stop working intermittently, not something I ACTIVELY WANTED TO HAPPEN. I really don't think this should count against a person when their internet does not intentionally go out. I did not stop in game to disconnect my modem, I did not intentionally leave match, and now I'm stuck with a 15 minute penalty due to something that absolutely wasn't my fault, it was my ISP's. What can I do here really but wait? And then probably accumulate more time if my WiFi decides to be a hassle? I don't have ISP options, just the one.

I'm sorry to be unsympathetic, but if you play an online game knowing you have bad wifi, you have no one to blame but yourself if it disconnects you in the middle of a match.

You may not have disconnected your wifi on purpose, but how are they supposed to tell the difference between you and someone else who did? Legitimate question - I'm sure if there is a method, the devs would love to hear about it, because from what they've said on stream it sounds like they don't know of one.

I would say if there was some way, then it would have to be telling whether or not someone stood still and just went to turn off Modem or whatever. You can tell easily when someone intentionally leaves. And I don't usually have bad WiFi, my ISP likes to pick and choose when it decides to be "bad".

But how would they tell if someone intentionally left by turning off their internet?
