It is. You tunnel 2 guys to death and call it a day. Everyone who is around here for a long time agreed to 2 kills and 2 escapes balance, so, if survivors do their objective and killer play "optimal", you kill whoever you find first and others can go. Kicking gens can help only if you have Pop Goes The weasel or Thrilling Tremors. Use your time wisely.

I use GhostFace at Rank 1 and I do not have problems.
If you want more bang for your buck when kicking a gen, run either PGTW or Overcharge.

pretty sure its figuratively useless

Have you ever thought that maybe you're just not very good at this game yet? =/
22 -
lmao, ghostface is by far the best M1 killer when played at full potential.
Go ahead and ask the devs to make the game easier for you.
7 -
Against a team on voice comms, yeah I could see your argument. But there are times when you are facing solos where you can force someone off a gen and their teammates might not ever know about or come across that specific generator while it's regressing. Kick strategically my friends.
1 -
Nobody agreed to that.
3 -
Devs said 2 kills and 2 escapes is the balance they aim for. People do agree to that.
7 -
And that's silly. It should be 3 kills 1 escape. That would put it more in line with horror movies and actually make some sense.
10 -
play as a survivor an quit crying bruh. Ez solution.

Kicking gens is a bet. You need to make sure nobodys in that area to get value out of it. If you're not sure don't do it.
2 -
this is a video game, not a horror movie, both sides need equal chance, it would be ridiculous to balance around 3kills.
12 -
No, both sides do not need an equal chance. You're pitting supernatural Killers against regular people off the street. There's no way the regular people would have this much of a chance against these Killers.
Now if this were regular human vs regular human then sure both sides need an equal chance.
The way the game is set up right now the only way to make it equal is 4 Killers vs 4 Survivors.

This is the first time out of the ptb ive seen ghostface referred to as weak.
Dont bother crouching its a waste of time all you need is the shroud for a free first hit.

Why thrilling tremors? How does it even help with regression/kicking?
0 -
Why do you write in the title about kicking gens but talk about ghostface dafuq?
6 -
I don't get it, is the thread about Ghostface of kicking gens?
5 -
Welcome to the club, I am confused too xD

Sometimes realism needs to be sacrificed for the sake of creating a more enjoyable experience for players, and that is absolutely the right call. DBD was never meant to be a simulation. If you want accuracy, just watch a horror movie instead like @SenzuDuck suggested.
7 -
What realism? You only need an enjoyable player experience for one side and that's the Killer side. You weren't looking for fun or enjoyment if you chose to play on the side of the generator repairmen. I just want the game to be Killer sided like it should've been from the get go. Y'know...kinda like DbD 2 (Deathgarden) that you guise let die.
I'm hoping this game dies eventually and they're forced to either remake another game but make it properly or keep Deathgarden alive as the superior replacement.

I use GhostFace at Rank 1 and I do not have problems Ghostface is a strong killer xD

If you kick a gen before picking up a survivor, it can help a tiny little bit. I dont say its super effective, I just made a list of perks that can be combined with kicking gens. :D
0 -
You can have really bad games with ghostface especially with SWF with comms but he is a solid killer.
Kicking gens is not always useless. kicking a 50% done gen and then leaving to a different gen is usually not a good tactic but there are times where you can get some value from kicking gens even without pop. It really depends on map, if the team are SWF, how many survivos are in that area near the gen and how many downs and hooks you're getting.

obviously this thread is a bait, but anyway i'm a ghostface main and have no issues at red ranks. GF is the best stealth killer rn.
4 -
lol...overcharge at rank 1. THose guys hit greats all day long. You think that soemthing tha tis three times bigger than a great is goign to be a problem for them? Overcharge needs to be half the size it currently is to even begin to be useful.
3 -
4 killers vs 4 survivors, huh? Are you trolling?
3 -
I am so confused right now
What is this thread about?
1 -
But Thrilling pauses regression.
So you kick, it regresses for few seconds, you pick up, thrilling blocks the gen AND PAUSES REGRESSION for 16 seconds, then it starts regressing again.
3 -
What does being bad as ghostface have to do with kicking gens being useless?
3 -
Oh wow I see. This thread is just really poor bait. This comment is uh....well it's a mass of bait statements.
2 -
What you are describing is gen tapping, you kick a gen and a Survivor quickly taps it, undoing 3 seconds of work in less than a second. Overcharge prevents that.
0 -
Kicking gens is really useless most of the time if you don't have Pop active, but I don't see how Ghost Face is related to this.
0 -
That's why killers are allowed to do it. Because it's useless.
0 -
Kicking gens is pointless with Thrilling because it pauses all regression
edit: whoops, @Archimedes5000 already said that, mb
0 -
It's really pointless with new ruin!
0 -
honestly, the only time kicking a gen is actually usefull would be when you got a perk buffing that ability (e.g. Pop Goes The Weasel or Overcharge) or when you have driven all survivors off that gen and you know they wont return (e.g. there was one guy working on it and you downed / hooked them).
other than that, due to the extremely slow regression rate (.25 charges / second) and the survivors ability to easily get rid of it makes it quite unusable outside of these situations.
1 -
the majority of people on this site do not agree with that statement.
1 -
You'd need to do a poll to be certain, but I'm pretty sure that's not true and most people agree that a 2K average is a fair goal.
1 -
Ehhh, maybe just run PGTW. Overcharge ain't worth the kick. :P
0 -
Holy crap! I have always said that! You need to have a "final girl" to survive after the rest are killed. Pretty much the formula for most horror movies....
2 -
What he seems to be describing is gen tapping, where a Survivor in a chase quickly taps the gen to stop it from regressing. Overcharge prevents that by hitting them with a difficult skillcheck when they aren't expecting it.
0 -
I mean, Ruin does that job better, even though it is a Hex.
0 -
Eh, but it is a Hex. In my opinion, a weak one at that.
But yes, assuming it lasts a while, it could be better than Overcharge.

I just think Overcharge is bad. I don't think countering gen tapping is a good enough reason to run it.
0 -
yes... they do... its called a GAME for a reason. its supposed to be fun.
besides, youre really trying to strawman how “this isnt how itd be in real life!!” when this game is legit about a spider monster abducting random people to play cat and mouse... like what
2 -
I kick generators once someone finds my ruin so my surveillance can keep working.
2 -
No, no they don't. This is gonna be hard for you to believe but sometimes not everything is equal. The beauty of games that have a Power role is that the Power role is....Y'know....more POWERFUL and hence better than the opposing side. In a game like THIS it is NOT supposed to be fair and equal. That's why you have 1 (THE POWER ROLE) vs 4 (The disadvantage role).
It's called a GAME because we PLAY it not because it's fair. The fun of the playing Survivor is supposed to come from being stealthy enough to complete the objectives whilst also avoiding being killed. If you don't like stealth games you're probably not going to have fun on the Survivor side in general.
The fun of the Killer side is the thrill of seeking out the Survivors and preventing them from completing their objectives using your powers/abilities that give you a superior advantage over them. If you don't like being able to easily dominate the opposing side you probably won't have fun on the Killer side in general.
I feel like this game was made by people like you and some others in this topic that don't get the concept of a POWER role and think it's supposed to be fair for both sides. Probably played some other 1 vs 4 game in the past and didn't like how hard it was to play as a Survivor.
