Intro video annoyance

Previously I disabled the intro video by removing the file. A couple days ago, the movie file was added to the EAC verification, and the game will not launch without it.

Aside from adding an unnecessary delay to the startup, another big problem with the video is that it does not respect any in-game volume setting. It always plays at its own default volume which is much louder than what I have in game.

There should be an option to disable the intro video. Any screen that you are legally required to display should be a separate screen with no audio.

I get the video on the PS4 and wish it wasn't there. It's way to loud on my headset.

I tried making a bug report about this issue but allegedly this is an intended feature and should be discussed on the discussion forum. So here we are, discussing.

Why do the console options to disable the intro video not work?

Why is the intro video added to EAC check in the first place? It was not in the EAC check for months, if not years. It is not a necessary core game file. It should NOT be in the EAC check.

I also do not like the intro video. It's quite deafening. I feel like when the devs make these vids, they should strictly make it 10% volume.

It really needs to be able to be disabled. The cinematic plus having to press a key to start the game loading, are two unnecessary things that really shouldn't be there.

I wouldn't be bothered if I just had to load dbd up once, but quite often swf lobbies drop players after a match, and it no longer recognises whether you or they are still in a match or online. As that's a pretty difficult issue to tackle, I'd say at the least please disable the video so it's not so irritating on every restart.
