Should Slippery Meat Remove Bear Trap Advantage?

25% chance to escape from bear traps? As though it wasn't easy enough?

I mean, sure, its not a commonly ran perk. But why? Its outdated in design. No other power seems to really directly counter other killer's powers, besides Calm Spirit and the Doctor. And the Trapper has the most counters in the game.

I get its not a high priority target for nerfs, but idk, feels off to me.

Slippery Meat isn't entirely based on Bear-Traps alone, that's why it's only a side-note to the actual MAIN use, which is the 3 bonus escape attempts to unhook yourself.

The perk is also quite niche outside of Kobe builds, so it's not really something that's really... note worthy? Also, there's other perks that counter some Killer powers like Iron Will for Spirit, Calm Spirit for Doctor, Dead Hard for Huntress (Kinda), etc. It's kind of an odd addition to the perk itself, but the perk isn't really used that often to garner a big change in the first place.

If it was removed from Slippery Meat, I doubt anyone would really notice.

Well, its a perk from the days where there was like, three killers, and they were making perks to counter their powers.

Now its 2020, and the Trapper has accumulated all the counters he had back then and then some. They've gotten rid of a few, but Slippery Meat is kinda a relic with outdated design.

And I give Calm Spirit, Iron Will, and Dead Hard a pass because they have utility outside of direct counters to a power (not to mention they are easy to counter in themselves).

Slippery Meat is kinda like, "Hey, here's this perk. Oh, and you also make this Killer's power 25% more terrible btw."

I mean, the same can be said for Unrelenting, since that perk was used a lot in the 2016 meta, but we haven't seen a massive change to it since 2016 either right?

Also, there wasn't really a lot of perks that countered Killer powers, only a hand full did this, and even then the meta mostly consisted of Sprint Burst, Self-Care, etc. You could also argue that Slippery Meat also has utility outside of countering Trappers Traps... since the main purpose of Slipper Meat now-a-days is for a Kobe build, while the Trapper aspect is a side piece.

There isn't a perk that's strictly a counter to one Killer, they have use outside of what they're associated with. In the case of Slippery Meat, the opposite applies to the Trap counter... since, like I said, the perk is mostly for Kobe builds now while the Bear-Trap part stays on the side-lines for the most part, you rarely see anyone bring Slippery Meat to actively counter one Killer that's barely seen in Red/Purple ranks.

So again, the change itself would be hardly noticed. It's just one of those changes that really doesn't mix anything up, it's just a change for the sake of change I guess. That doesn't mean i'm against the idea, but I just don't see it being something that's note-worthy. To be honest, if they changed Slippery Meat they should just rework the perk entirely at this point.

I feel like if you combo'ed this with Flip-Flop, Tenacity, and Unbreakable, than you'd have a strong build for Killers that slug or just in-general leave you on the ground for a few seconds.

Just add this reworked Slipper Meat, and you'll have a 40% progression bar + a 10% bonus to wiggle speed as well. I don't agree that the Trapper part of Slippery Meat should stay, since it's fairly outdated, but I feel there's also a good reason to why we don't have wiggle speed perks.

Fair enough, it'll also become much more powerful once the sabo changes go live.
