Toolboxes are much more akin to moris than keys are
I know a lot of killers like to complain about keys and compare them to moris but keys unlike moris are not always useful in a match. It took me at least 10 tries if not more to accomplish the key challenge in the rift. It wasnt easy. Keys only REALLY come in handy when there are 1 or 2 gens left but only two survivors. In this scenerio that game is pretty much lost unless you have a key. But if this scenerio doesn't happen in the match (which it often enough times doesn't) then the key most likely wont come in handy at all.
Toolboxes however are much more like moris because toolboxes are guaranteed to speed the game up and make it go faster. Much like moris that allow killers to kill survivors faster, toolboxes allow survivors to complete gens faster.
If all four survivors bring a toolbox to the match that, in my opinion, justifies bringing an ebony mori to the match to even things out. I could care less about keys.

killers complain about it because its BS to a survivor suddenly escape, altought toolboxes are way stronger (in a 1v4) its not annoying as keys are
