Whispers on Pig
Hey ffolks,
i wanna use whispers on my pig. What Level do you think is best on her. I think leaving it on Lvl 2 is best because on Lvl 3 the range is 32m, same as her terror radius. So u need monitor & abuse to sneak upon ppl, while on Lvl2 the range is 40 meters and u can crouch before the survivors can hear ur terror radius.
What do you think?

The Whispers Radius and your Terror Radius are two separate entities. The way Whispers works is different, it gives you a separate radius that notifies you when someone enters your invisible 32 meter radius for (as an example) a Tier lll Whispers.
It's best to use the Tier lll version as the lower versions have a higher radius, the higher the radius the harder it is to discern where a Survivor is in that hidden radius.

but when the perk activates i know exactly that they are 40 meters away (or 32 on t3). my problem with t3 is, that the moment the perk activates is the same range as the survivors hear me coming. in this case i need monitor to lower my terror radius so in can crouch intime. im not sure if this is worth a perkslot, when i can just run the 40 meter whispers and have 3 free perkslots.

Having it at 40 meters makes it a lot harder to know WHERE that Survivor even is, since the range isn't in a cone, it's an invisible circle that's all around you, while you're in the middle of that circle as a reference.
Basically what i'm saying is, increasing the range by 8 meters just makes it a lot harder to find Survivors and/or determine where they're through the giant radius you're given, that's why most players use the Tier lll variant. If you're worried about "tipping them off to where you're" than that's not what this perk is for, Whisper is just to track Survivors through a crude means and that's all.
A Killer like The Pig wouldn't benefit from this stealth wise, since they can only mask their Terror Radius through crouching, while GhostFace or Myers are naturally around 0 because of their side and/or main abilities.

If you're really determined that they should not hear your terror radius at all, and that's all you want to use Whispers for, then by all means use the Tier II version. But if you react fast enough, tier III also works well enough for that purpose, and has the added benefit of making it easier to locate survivors, which is Whispers' main function and why it's considered such a powerful perk.

You should always use whispers 3 most people(myself included) use monitor and abuse to make her TR fit with whispers

You honestly don't need to do that though, you can use Whispers and still gain use from it, even if it matches your base Terror Radius. This is why Killers like Billy, Huntress, etc use Whispers, it's just for crude manner of tracking Survivors and that's it... if you're looking to use it in a stealth scenario than you can! However, perks like BBQ and Nurse's Calling are better for that.

Well usually you use a combination of whispers and nurses or bbq

For Killers like Billy or Huntress yeah, for other Killers it depends on the build.
If it's someone like The Wraith, you'd use perks like Brutal Strength or Enduring to make up for some of the loops. On Wraith Whispers is OK, but it mostly shines with Killers like Bill and Huntress that can snowball pretty quickly OR require a sense of awareness to save time.
For example, it saves Huntress some time when it comes to searching for their first Survivor, and for Billy it saves you time when it comes to searching for Survivors as well, but his mobility allows him to snowball a lot quicker in some regards.
the point is...
Whispers works well with pretty much every Killer, but worrying about the Terror Radius WITH the perk itself is not really necessary. That's kind of the main point i'm going with here, it's just for general tracking and awareness, it's not supposed to really do more than that, so having a big or small Terror Radius won't stop it from doing that.
That's why everyone uses the Tier lll version, using Tier l or Tier ll is just crippling it to be honest.

The reason people are talking about terror radius is because they like to use Whispers on Pig so that they know when to crouch to hide their terror radius, and so they aren't slowing themselves down unnecessarily when there are no survivors around. That's why they combo it with Monitor and Abuse, because then they have an 8-metre window in which to crouch between coming within range of a survivor and that survivor being able to hear the terror radius. Of course, that's not the perk's primary purpose, but it is a valid use of it if you really want to avoid being detected.
Apologies if you were already aware of that, it wasn't clear from your comments so I just wanted to make sure.
