I Have to Vent a Little
Usually I just take a loss and move on, but this match was a bit over the top.
1 player DC'd with 5 gens left, so it was a 3v1 game.
Then this killer chose to slug and let us bleed out.
I know this isn't bannable, but it feels like it should be since this player went out of their way to make sure we had a miserable experience :(

It's only 4 min. I know it sucks but just get a cup of water, take a leak, browse youtube. Not the worst thing in the world.

I know the drill, I went AFK as you can see the crow above me.
I just don't understand why some people feel the need to take every opportunity to be unsportsmanlike.

He may be sad because dc'er waste his addon/offering etc and he is taking his anger out of you.

And survivors never go out off there way to do the same to killers both sides are guilty off doing it, if they are going to start banning people for things like this it's going to be a very thin line to work with. It's sucks that it happens stuff like that but at times survivors ask for it, i had a match just before and they all tried to get out with a key in the end i had 3 off them slugged and dying on the ground, they chose to come and try for the hatch even though the gate was open sorry but if your going to try that then i will slug and leave you on the ground.

Heck, I don't care if they ban them for a week. Players who deliberately play in an unsportsmanlike way deserve something in return, and I don't consider camping/tunneling and gameplay with actual strategy "unsportsmanlike." Slugging everyone and letting them all bleed out for a match, repeatedly downing and picking up the last survivor in front of the locked exit gate, so they can't escape or die, these are things that disrupt the intended function of the game and warrant a response.
The repeated downing and picking up was something I saw in one of my own games tonight. Killer was a Nurse, took out three of us in maybe as many minutes, then toyed with the last one at the exit gate until they presumably got bored and threw him on a hook.
Don't @ me about dying to a Nurse in under 4 minutes.

Tl;Dr: people are jerks. But it's complicated.
I've actually been thinking about this lately.
I think the biggest force involved here is use of dominant strategies. With a side helping of internet anonymity.
Basically dominant strategy is when you find one strategy in a game that is objectively better than others at obtaining a win condition, regardless of what another player may do.
Regardless of what the devs intend, for many people a TPK (or TPE) IS the win condition.
Lemme make an analogy: Boxing.
Theoretically, if you took a gun to a boxing match and shot your opponent you would win regardless of what your opponent could do.
So, why aren't there more glocksings in boxings?
Things like refs, and rules, and regulations, and social pressures. If you shot your boxing opponent you would have to answer to ejections from the sport, other punishments, and shame from your audience. There are massive incentives to not shoot your opponent, and instead play by the agreeed upon rules of the sport.
In a game like DBD there are rules. But no refs. No audience, per se. Just you, and maybe your stream audience if you're into that.
On top of that, having a layer of internet between you and you're opponent WILL lead you to dehumanize them unless you make a special effort not to. Your brain will just default think of them as a part of the game, or a hostile hindrance, not another person.
So what this leads to is this, and I hate to use the word but it's apt, toxic salad of human behavior.
1. If your goal is to achieve your win condition, you will gravitate towards the most effective strategy to make this happen.
2. If you're like everyone else on the planet, you're not going to lose a lot of sleep over beating someone at a video game.
So when these two factors add up, killers AND survivors will just default to doing the thing that is most likely to give them the emotional hit of getting that win. And they won't care if they bruised someone's pride along the way because, well, they win.
I feel like the only way to counteract this behavior would be super fine, granular and nuanced control over the game rules and disputes of those rules. In short: a ref.
But let's be realistic, that's a stupid idea. The amount of effort expended to give dbd a system that could function like a ref, making human calls that computers struggle to in cases of like and kind, would be a stupid waste of time. No one wants to adjudicate an online game so randos will play nice.
The closest approximation would either be a system of gentlmens agreements that dictate what is and isn't considered fair play. (...which we are clearly incapable of doing. It just turns into 'survivor rulebook' and 'killer rulebook' people just disagree and get angry and then dig their heels in. ) OR something like custom servers where players could tweak what rules do and don't apply and how they work...which isn't a great system for dbd because the player base likely isn't large enough to support such a splintered menu of choices.
So, to wrap up jerking myself off I guess...people act unsportsmanlike because they just want to win and doing what it takes to do that has so few consequences they don't care.
And fixing that is really tough.
