Playing Pig
So I have read enough to understand that 'boop the snoot' may or may not get you......what exactly as a survivor? I know this is an unwritten rule and may have no specific answer. I'm fairly new yet but If I do that as a survivor, might the pig let me survive a bit longer? Something else?

It's a bit like the "respect the 4%" meme that was around fairly early on, where killers felt compelled to let a survivor go if they managed to kobe off the hook without any luck bonuses.
If a Pig player is on board with the "Boop The Snoot" meme, if you poke their nose as a survivor, they will let you live. Some Pigs will let you go just from that one chase, but most will allow you to escape the match. However, there are a fair proportion of Pig players who don't care and will kill you anyway, and you never know which is which until you try booping them (unless you've played against them before). That's part of the reason why those who follow the meme will let you live, out of respect for your bravery in approaching and booping them knowing they could easily take the opportunity to kill you.

It was simply a meme that the community came up with, but a lot of Pig players now use it as an insidious lure to draw out foolish survivors who think that just because I'm one of the lower tier killers, then I'm more open to farming games and general foolery.
Big mistake.
It's as Fibijean said above. It's a coin toss as to what the Pig player will do. Unless they show signs of wanting to actually farm, then do not boop the snoot. They are Stabby Swine.

It's entirely a meme tbh.
Whether The Pig lets you live or not when you "boop their snoot" is entirely their choice, it's not something you should expect if that's what you're thinking. "Boop the snoot" could mean many things, it could just be for the meme, it could be to ask to let you go, it could be to farm, it's entirely unknown.
Your best option is to just treat it as a meme and than decide if you want to "let them go" or not. You're not obligated to do this and you can kill them guilt free if you want.
