Playing multiple killers, Considering Stopping

I just can't start playing a killer I haven't played much of and not get totally destroyed. This game says I am a green rank killer, sometimes deep purple, but that's cause of another killer I played a bunch of and not me being that rank on all killers. This has been proven especially difficult when green rank killer = red rank survivors, purple rank killer = red rank survivors, 100+ hours Huntress = red rank survivors, 2 hours Billy = red rank survivors. I understand people might not want killers to have their own ranks because of other skills picked up by playing other killers and possibly queue times, but why would I ever want to "learn" a killer when I am just going to get bullied in game and after?

I do agree with you that having different ranks for different killers makes sense to some extent, but in the absence of that as a feature, I think it's largely a matter of attitude. If you're someone who cares a lot about ranking up, learning new killers probably will be difficult for you.

I personally prefer to be as low-ranked as possible as killer, because it makes it easy to complete things like challenges and Adept achievements, survivors tend to be less mean, and I have the freedom to do what I want in the game, help the survivors learn, make sure they have a fun time, and generally feel like the one in control. The reason I mention this is because the fact that I don't mind depipping, and in fact sometimes find it a relief with the matchmaking as it currently is, means that I have a much easier time losing as killer.

When I'm trying to learn a new killer, I go into the match expecting to lose. I tell myself that the only reason I'm playing the match is to improve my skills. I'm not trying to win with Huntress, I'm just playing for target practice. I'm not trying to win with Nurse, I'm just focusing on learning how to manage my blinks. Obviously I still play as if I were trying to win, but it's never my expectation.

Basically, while I do agree that what you're describing is far from ideal, I would encourage you to practice new killers with the expectation of learning, not winning, and you may find you have a much more enjoyable time overall.

I have the same problem. I can't learn new killers unless I derank a bunch because otherwise I get stomped and called a baby killer ez noob and I don't really learn anything about how to play them other than I'm gonna have a bad time if I keep trying

Hopefully as some have said there will be a separate ranking for each killer in the new system so this problem won't be so bad
