Can you all answer this for me please
When did a D/c equal a kill become a thing?
Points wise it makes no sense
And thought wise you didn't kill them? They Rage quit or they had a connection problem?
Like at the results screen you have a 2k an escape and a D/c
How is this a "3k"

If you are a killer and someone D/C's, whether rage quit or actual connection issues, the killer will only get 'quitters bonus' points. It will not count as a legitimate kill. Also, the game can not tell why someone D/C's. So if someone leaves, regardless of the reason, the D/C penalty will go into effect.

Yes but on another thread in the forum this guy literally had a 2k 1 escape and a d/c, yet he apparently had a 3k?

DC should =a kill no reason why it shouldn't.
2 -
Point wise it doesn't
Emblem wise it doesnt
Self satisfaction maybe to some

I guess people count a dc because you don't know, when somebody dc'ed: A survivor dc'ing right at the start of the match is different than a survivor dc'ing when he is about to be death hooked.
I'm also pretty sure that the emblems count a dc as kill, some challenges do and dc's don't effect the "No one escape" score event.

That was about the survivors exploiting the hatch escape. He lost pips as a result as well. All outside their control.

It doesn't affect much in red ranks emblem wise which is what I'm basing emblem.
It isn't a kill imo when they d/c for hatch tech but that isnt what this is about

Honestly, it should count as a kill mechanically for any purpose in the game. A DC completely removes the ability to ever get that kill, without there being anything the killer can do about it.
1 -
True. I understand that. But imho they all just decided he was angry because no 4k which was kinda dumb.
But i dont see how a d/c can mean a kill points wise.
Depending on the stage of the game they d/c, can ruin the emblems of the killer
And i see no satisfaction of the kill on my end.

So what is this about then? Sorry, but I'm confused.
You want people to say "I got a 2k and a dc"? Or not? Or only in specific Situation?

I count a DC as a kill as killer.
Lore wise
I pretend it's a heart attack if its server issues or if it's a rage quit I pretend they committed suicide by capsule.
I can tell mostly because its linked to them being downed and then they DC or them being in my arms.
I've gotten ps4 trophies for killers as 4k and I had a DC during the match. So I think while you dont get the points or emblems for a sac it still counts them as dead survivors or non escapes.

When a d/c can make up to the emblem points for the killer i could consider it a "technical kill" based off that

It's mechanically not a kill, exploitable, ruins achievements, ruins emblems, and entirely survivor sided. They get outplayed then flip the table.
0 -
Which ones if i may know did it count for achievement wise

I got the adept kill billy and hag both with the last person DC. I dont remember when billy was but the hag the last guy dc when I closed the hatch in front of him just in time!
and sent me nasty messages so I remember that match clearly

Yes.
I mean dc'ing is bad, nobody is arguing that. I just don't get what the op is about, if a survivor dc's before I can hook him a third time for whatever reason I'll definitly count that as a kill.
I don't see how a dc is survivor sided. First, a Killer can dc too and will get the same punishment, second, a dc isn't beneficial for the survivors either, unless somebody dc's for hatch.
Dc's in general suck and that they are so popular in this game is really sad, so hopefully the dc-penaltys are fixed soon.

So at the start of the match before one hook they d/c that's a kill to you? Not nitpicking wanting you to elaborate.
Its just it lacks satisfaction in my eyes
Can ruin a killers emblem
And its just a scummy rage quit not a kill.
If this counts as a kill then i know a certain way to always get 4ks through a scummy way

You can get the adept pretty easily from low ranks and upto late green ranks
Merciless is just based on the amount of pips you get not the kill

If he dc's because of map or killer, then yes, if not, I just see it as a 3 man match. It just doesn't bother me, but to be honest, I never try achievements so I don't care.
I guess it is just a personal think, but I agree with you that dc's in general suck.

If the person DCs at the start of a match, it's not a full game to begin with and you shouldn't care much about the end result. Beyond that, it is just kind of nit picking to try to differentiate between somebody saying they got a "3k" or a "2k and a disconnect" if somebody disconnected mid match. It's the same reason I would say if I had a friend come over and play a game versus me (any game, not DbD) and they quit and stopped playing mid match, I would count it as me winning, because I made them quit.

The way I look at it is, after they dc and their body lays on the ground, they have died of a heart attack. They could no longer handle the fright and their heart gave in.
Dcs count towards the kill survivors by any means challenges though, I know that because I thought someone cheated me out of one when they disconnected but I still completed it.
