Can we take a moment to talk about what is quite possibly the worst add-on in the entire game?

Doctor's: "Scrapped Tape"

My dear sweet Jesus dying on the cross, why is this virtual trash bin leakage even a conceivable option for Doc?

For those who don't know, it changes the shape of Doctor's shock therapy into in a hollow ring.

And it is awful.

Completely and utterly awful.

Imagine, if you will, if there was an add-on that made Huntress's hatchets curve 90% degrees once you threw them, and that's it.

Imagine how it would make her power unnecessarily hard to use with absolutely no counter-benefits to balance out how it handy-caps you.

This is is only half of the damage that Scrapped Tape does to the Doctor.

Because at least Huntress can still injure survivors with her power.

I am convinced that this an overlooked experiment made by a programmer that no one bothered to test once Doctor was ready to ship. Haphazardly stapled onto his add-ons completely unnoticed.

I mean, it was temporarily removed with the Doctor buff but then added back in without any changes. As if the devs took it out and quickly realised that they had no idea what to do with this abortion of an add-on, and just decided "who cares anyway?" and just added it back in.

So, here is a few of the many suggestions that could be made to make it not atrocious.

  • Have the shock zone linger for a few extra seconds after zapping
  • Increasing the duration that survivors are shocked after getting hit (so miraculously hitting a survivor is actually rewarded for the effort)
  • Or just change the shape to something that you can feasibly shock survivors with

Thanks for reading through this completely unnecessary rant. It was the product of when a friend of mine forced me to use the tape for a meme build. I'll admit that loads of other add-ons, and killers for that matter, could probably use more attention, but this one is the main target of my ire for the misery it has caused me.

It's a trash addon, i lile the idea, that the zone is there for longer time.

Nah, the worse add-ons in the entire game hands down goes to Legions.

1/2 of their add-ons are literally useless and don’t even work AND that’s a fact.

Deep Wound Study, Frank’s Mix-Tape, Both Rulers, All the Pins, and The increase Killer Instinct distance, Cold Dirt (any cooldown) Literally almost every single Legion add-on is utterly useless.

Their best add-ons are stolen sketch book and iridescent button.

The add-ons always confuse me. As I’ve always viewed purple and pink ones as being super strong. But some of them really aren’t? There’s a Deathslinger one (can’t remember the name) but it’s purple and it has a negative effect on it. It reduces something, but why would you want to run an add-on that reduces something? It just doesn’t make sense to me. Why don’t rare survivor add-ons have negatives but killer ones do? It hardly seems fair.

I'd like it more if it at least wasn't empty in the center.

The pins are actually nice now. But agree with the rest, the other 3 are totally useless and trash.

Which rare add ons are you talking about? The BNP which disappears the moment it has been used? No option to keep it. Unlike killers who can protect all of their add ons

The syringe which uses up your medkit instantly?

    Same with the Styptic agent?

Odd bulb which uses up the battery quicker and battery life isn't very long anyway.

All survivor add ons are time limited in one way or another so they have to be used sparingly. A killer gets to use them for the duration of the entire round.

I see some fairly obvious negatives there. Wipe your killer main spectacles and look properly.

what about speed limiter tho :0)

It's so bad I don't know why they brought it back with the recent patch without reworking it. It should just shock survivors in the entire circle to make it kinda viable. Your suggestion with the lingering effect is also nice.

Sorry, Nurse has the worst add-ons. Imagine if Huntress had an add-on that caused a survivor to scream if you missed. Imagine if she only had two hatchets but had an ultra rare that reduced it to one but was still the slowest killer in the game. Imagine.....if Huntress or Doctor had an add-on that if you land a successful hit, your power is disabled. Unable to shock, unable to throw hatchets.

    *laughs in rank 1 survivor*

The scales aren’t balanced. Maybe play killer sometime and you’ll see that for yourself. I play both evenly and I can call out BS when I see it. Survivors have it easy.

I play killer quite a lot actually, in red ranks. If I win, I win. If I lose, I lose. So what? It is a game. I'm not going to cry about every perk and add-on a survivor has.

There is a freddy addon that gives a little bit more bp,and makes snares absolutely useless. Like the slowdown is non-existent

As a nurse main, i can say that most addons are fine. The ones you mentioned do have their place, and i actually like the spasmodic breath addon. It can really throw people offguard when they suddenly see a nurse moving fast at them.

You are close to correct, but, survivors do not have addons that actively hinder their ability to play. Perks? Yes. Addons? No.

Myers has three that lower his overall movement speed for the duration of the match.

Doc has this useless ass one

    Nurse has a few

Wraith has that useless one that keeps Terror Radius while cloaked

Pretty much all of Legions addons limit their effectiveness.

Deathslinger has so many useless addons its not even funny. Both his ultra rares suck, and even his purple addons arent great. Reload speed and cooldown are the only addons that youll ever need to use

Yeah but this is common for almost all killers though. Billy and Bubba have Speed Limiter, basically making chainsaw as good as an M1. Trapper has padded jaws for the same purpose, most killers have some "extra BP for crippling yourself" addon. They're mainly for a laugh.

Um, Legion can only hit a player twice now, and Frank's Mix tape has never increased the duration of mending, all it did was reduce the mending timer. A Legion who actually employs it is gimping themselves now because to use it means to hit you twice, ending the power immediately. Not to mention mending timer stops during chases anyway now (since the moonwalk exploit was fixed).

I mean, have you played against a Legion recently? Instead of remembering when they were broken?

my vote goes to the Torn Bookmark.

who came up with this idea as a serious add on? AND WHO MADE THIS ULTRA RARE?!?

The only reason it's back is because there's apparently a cult following for this add-on, meaning that somewhere, there is a group of people that somehow ######### love Scrapped Tape.

They most likely gave it Ultra Rare only because it gives you an extra blink. I guess they must really want that three blink achievement to be a pain in the ass to get.

Frank's Mixtape is definitely the worst add-on in the game.

It doesn't have an unnoticeable effect like all most all of Legion's other add-ons some other add-ons. It can be used.

It doesn't provide any BP boost or have a funny meme effect.

And it's not that it doesn't work, it does exactly what it should.

It's that what it does is actively against everything a player should be doing as Legion. Its continued existence is the biggest reason I believe in a Legion rework.

Eventually the devs will have to replace an add-on thats sole use is to let a Killer down someone in a little over two minutes; this assuming of course the Survivor doesn't just mend.

All that said, Scrapped Tape is pretty bad, and it's confusing as heck why it came back after being scrapped.
