I'm sick of losing my offerings when someone disconnects before the game starts! Why is this a thing?!?!?! Is this a bug or is this supposed to happen?! It's beyond frustrating. God I'm so pissed off at this game sometimes.....

Yeah it should go back to your inventory. It’s not a consistent behavior though, since equipped items and addons stay equipped.

Honestly for me it goes from my active slot back into my inventory when this happens to me. I would check how much you have of whatever your using before and after a dc to make sure and then if it completely takes it out of your inventory file it in the bugs section of this site.
