Versing Deathslinger is so fun!
He always surprises you because his TR is ######### up, than he m1s you, than instantly can range shot you and hit you again. SO FUN! Congrats devs! Thank you for this amazing interactive experience!

Try playing as him. See how fun it is to get gen rushed because you have no map pressure.

This is why i been running spinechill, even though I had the guy right next to me at one point (wasn't running MAB) and spine chill still wasn't working xD

So true. Hes so slow that he lose chases despite still been following the scrathmarks.. All thanks to the slow cooldown of hell from miss+reload time and tiny hitboxes. One of the worse killers so far.

Exactly. I regret spending 9000 shards on him. Everything about him is so slow. Missing one shot can essentially cost you the game. In order to even stand a chance, you need to be really accurate.

I bought him with shards too and honestly i would have preferred buying a cosmetic instead. Not even his perks are good, all are "meh" perks. He needs a serious rework.

Agreed. The sad thing is that I still miss Plague, Oni and Legion, but decided to buy the Deathslinger because he looked interesting. Now I feel like an idiot.

With that small terror and ranged attack, he has been one of the best area camping killers I’ve ever seen in this game.

Must be pretty fun because that's all I've been seeing since his release. I've seen a different killer a total of 9 times and I play all day long.

I agree it IS a lot of fun to play against deathslinger except I feel as a survivor one should definitely be able to move around a lot more when you’ve been shot with his Harpoon gun. I don’t get why vaults don’t break it either the player literally can’t do anything to defend himself because you can’t move around at all to try and break it. That’s the only thing.

This is so stupid, even with a killer like hillbilly and doing a lot of pressure, good survivors will destroy you. I play huntress and deathslinger is a bit stronger because of the terror radius without lullaby. Every match with deathslinger goes well thanks to the unexistant terror radius he has. It is absolutely disgusting

His TR sounds much louder after the recent patch. It's actually discernable at 24M rather than like 16. Learn how to dodge his harpoon and you'll do fine against him.

It seems you don't know that spirit, hag, huntress has the same speed. If you lost all the chases perhaps you're doing something wrong.

I'm 1-13 against him so far, so forgive me for disagreeing with you.

Spirit can phase walk, quickly catching up to survivors and mind gaming them.
Hag can teleport; setting up a good series of traps can significantly shorten chases, though she's still pretty weak at rank 1.
Huntress can wound/ down survivors from afar. Her hitbox sometimes allow her to hit survivors when it shouldn't even be possible.
Deathslinger has none of that. He needs to reel his flimsy chain to hit survivors, and if it breaks it only applies deep would to them, though he gets stunned for a "brief" period of time (which is actually as long as a DS strike stun). Good survivors will easily dodge his harpoon, not to mention that very often the game will let them throw down a pallet even after being hit. Also, the Deathslinger's gun has a limited reach, which makes it so that you can't hit survivors who are too far away, unlike the huntress.
Most killers in the game have spoken: while he may be fun to play, he's nothing more than a mid tier killer. The fact that he has no map pressure at all kills him.

I'm a Billy main and while it is true that at red ranks survivors can destroy you no matter what, the Hillbilly remains a far superior killer. I end chases very quickly with him, something you can't do with the Deathslinger.

Who is talking about other killers? What makes him loses chases its his power the coldown+reload and the horrible hitboxes, not his base speed. I never lose chases with huntress or spirit.

Neither side is fun. That's why he's right next to doctor on my tier list of how fun it is to verse a certain killer.

No map pressure true. But no good survivors will block line of sight and waste pallets. That's IT. Dodge?! Youre funny if you have a good deathslinger there is no dodge because he can quickscope faster then you can move out the way because of hitboxes. And he has free zoning. He has one of the STRONGEST 1v1 in the game. He id almost uncounterable, he has no cool down for aiming and can shoot instantly. You cant juke a deathslinger he just missed. I used to wreck deathslinger. Until I met good ones and I can say one thing, getting quickscoped while dodging left and right is ANNOYING AND POINTLESS and dont let me forget when they suck and know it they will just get closer and closer then m1 you anyways. I mean say what you will but the only way to beat him is to gen rush him. If you get looped as a deathslinger youre doing something wrong.

Things are a little different now than the posts in this thread would indicate. He was only released for 12 days when this thread started, and many killer players were still learning how to play him.
Five months later now, and we see threads of survivors complaining about him.

So you admit it's a you problem and not a killer problem. As slinger as long as you end chases quickly you will have map pressure and you can run pop to stop gens and not to mention he basically doubles as a stealth killer so you almost always get a free hit.
He is far from terrible you should watch zubat play him and see just how unfair he can actually be.

I too like chases being decided purely wether the killers aim is good and through no input of my own as a survivor.

And THAT is exactly why this killer is a complete mess. He is super unfun in a chase as survivor, almost everyone hates him. but on the other side its annoying that you get genrushed as a killer. Just an aweful experience for both side, for survivor even more because chase sucks and sitting on gen is boring.
