Why is the Huntress's chapter free but not the Doctor's or the Hag's?
The Huntress came out after those two, right? So why is she free but the others aren't? I'm so confused

The same thing happened to The Nurse's DLC as well, The Last Breath Chapter came with The Nurse, a new map, and the Survivor Nea with her DLC.
There isn't really a reason behind it, she was just released as another piece of free content for the player base. The same goes for The Huntress, it was either a promotional thing or just BHVR giving out free content to the player-base. Whatever the reason is, both their DLCs were released for free. I suppose The Nurse is an exception, since Dead By Daylight was still fairly new... But as for the Huntress, there isn't really a reason.
Whatever that reason maybe be, the devs would probably be the ones to tell you WHY they released it for free. If they don't, I suppose it's just to be nice. Every DLC is supposed to be bought with money, that's only natural with most DLC. However, some DLC for a game can be released for free, either to be kind to the community OR to just release a fix to the game that's necessary (depending on the DLC).
Anyways, Unless it was mentioned somewhere than I don't know. Maybe it was mentioned in a dev stream...?

Well, on console, Spark of Madness and Of Flesh and Mud are free. I don't know why they made Huntress's DLC free, though.

I don't know why both those DLC's are free on Console.
It was probably just to be nice to the new platform at the time. The same goes for the Huntresses DLC, it's probably just a nice gift to the fan-base. Not everything needs a reason behind it, some things just happen randomly.

It's because the game costs more on console then on PC, so they included a few extra DLC's to consolidate for that.

They were probably just "thank you for supporting us for a month/year" gifts.
Consoles have free DLCs with them to celebrate the game's arrival to a new platform. Plus, only a madman wouldn't want Doctor in their game lol.

@FireHazard @FilledPizza They're not so much "free" on console as they are packaged with the game. The game costs more because the DLCs come with it, not the other way around.

Understandable. I don't know if the price has stayed the same for console since it's release, but it makes sense that the game is 5 dollars more for PS4 (for example). If you look at it price wise, both DLC is 14$ (unless it was less in the past), so getting it bundled with the game itself is a good deal.
As for the Huntress DLC, that isn't really known as to why it's free. Again, it could've already been mentioned somewhere (probably a dev stream), but the most likely reason is that... It's just a nice gift.

Because developers only care about huntress.

Back then they wanted to give at least 1 free dlc every year, but that quickly changed with the introduction of the store, where you could unlock every original dlc with shards, soo they stopped giving away the free dlc

Do you have a source for that?
Not that i'm asking you to prove yourself, i'm just curious about that scrapped idea they had... Since it's interesting to see their ideas Pre-Shop.

The old idea for every year was 3 paid dlcs and 1 free dlc, while having new maps added at random times
Guess they weren't making enough money with this plan

I mean, it was nice of them to follow along with this idea, but all good things must come to an end. Creating a new Killer for each chapter isn't cheap of course.
You also have to consider the music, trailers, perk concepts, multiple concepts for the power itself, the maps that need to be designed, testing these powers, and other things that go into a chapter as well. A lot of work and money goes into this stuff.

Yea no doubt about that
they spent around a lot of money on the spirit animations, if I am not mistaken was one of the most expensive killers to make due to the ammount of animations she has

I believe I heard that somewhere as well.
In any case, I guess some things weren't meant to be.

Thre's actually a really interesting dev stream on the creation of the spirit. It took a lot of work to actually sculpt and rig her model, since she is the most expressive character to date and is also missing limbs, which opened a lot of interesting intricacies when rigging her. Here's the video if you want to see:

On PS4, the only version is packaged as the Special Edition, and retails for 30 bucks, when it's not on sale.

On the Gamestop store it says it's only $24.99 for the standard edition (which is also called the Special Edition for some reason).
Are you referring to the Nightmare Edition that comes with The Stranger Things DLC? Since that Edition has the 30$ price, at least it's that price on the various websites I looked at.

No, on the PlayStation Store, it sells for 30$ without Freddy or stranger things. If I knew how to post pictures on here, I'd post the screenshot. XD you can pull up the PlayStation Store page from a browser and it'll show you that way.

Oh I see, I thought you just meant the physical copy of the game.
It's only natural that the digital version, especially on PS4, to be a lot more pricey than the physical copy. It's been that way for some games on the PlayStation store.
