About Game from my view point.

I'm a new player, playing over few days already.

I like survivors more so I play only survivor side. I did David King lvl 38, but I don't think that's so important as I notice, nor bloodweb.

Maybe you would think that I care about only survivor side, but is not really that way.

Everytime when we get a new game we try our best to ack what is in it and what's the best you could play for yourself, to have fun and don't get bored or stressed about it.

As I enter the game and play several games as survivor, only David persona.

I die, and die again , and again, and again, and again. I quit it.

I came back the other day, 1 hard win.

I learned that my only options to "hit" the killer is looping pallets thru entire map.

Ok, I start and play again, "I die trying to figure out where the hell is the pallet", or "pallet"s, because I see one at 25 meters away of each other.

I quit and get online next time.

I do a bit of loop (2 pallets) because t he others never found where they could be.

I get hit, I get down on stomach, etc.. etc.., die again .

My personal opinion after such playtime on this "game" :

1.Dbd isn't on the side of survivor or killer;

  • I need to get some skills in everything, and bloodwebs helps only in 1;2;3 seconds timing or something and nothing helpful over 25%.
  • Visual corner map does not exist, so I really can't memorize all pallets and gens wherever they are, I just can't so this is not solvable unless they create a fixed map with where these things are.
  • 1 hit - I run wounded (killer after me), he is faster than me and as I don't find any pallet over the entire place where I "run" to escape from him, even the weeds can't hide me from it, so he chase and get me with a second hit - I got on the floor with legs broken or something, in this moment is obviously that there's no escape, so killer grabs me and ([wiggle : "A-D"]) does nothing, just crying like a baby in killer's shoulders till he puts me in bed (the hook). Some team mates trying to recover me, some not. I escape. In 2 minutes i'm caught again and game over as I try to remove the spider out of me "Struggle" but is not working obviously. Just end dead.

Let me ask : why would I want to spend any money on this game if every game I play even as newbie is ending dead every single time?

"You could say : Why I don't just quit and unistall it or something"

"Answer : Because I like this idea of game, I play identity v as well, and let me tell you that there's effectively more chances there to escape as in DbD."

"Answer 2 : I like to play both tho."

  • Common, a flashlight as source of fight over some maniac with ax, gun, swords, magic and all cool stuff and survivors a flashlight and some wood pallet that is far at 1000 meters from you? and I can say that you don't have the flashlight all the time, but killers somehow have unlimited Axes, unlimited magic, unlimited anything.

Can't we "survivors" get some "POWER GUNS" , "MAGIC" , "KATANS" , etc, to murder killers?

Ok, this is a scare game as movies and bla bla, but in those movies there were always something to fight.

---

My Opinion :

  • Add weapons for suvivors too, (killer is a psycho or death person who chase to murder you, you should have something to protect from it and fight it, more than a pallet or flashlight, this is stupid).
  • Add a minimap, tho is not as in real, but is just a game after all, so we can do this in games.
  • A chat in time of the game would be nice tho (not voice tho, only texting).
  • You made killer faster so he can grab you easier, ok, then make the survivor faster too, is not hard to change some speed parameters in a game file of characters.
  • Now I'm not talking about me here, is for most of spend time without having fun as survivor.
  • - Ok, you die 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 games in a row, (Fun ends there and becames crynge for dbd).
  • - You win 1 game from 50 where you have died. ( Crynge is nothing compared to stress fit).
  • - I really tried my best far now and I won't stop playing, just not so much as I did.

i will make it as short as possible:

all of your above mentioned problems can be solved by you getting better at the game.

you will have to put some time into it, but once you understand how maps are structured, how the different tiles work, how far a killer can attack you from, how different killer powers work, how you properly loop, etc. this game will become infinitely more easy for you.

also, maps are generated randomly. you cant memorize all locations of all pallets, windows, totems, gens, etc, as they will be different every time you play on it. the layout of the tiles however does not change. a L T wall will always look the same, the question is just where it spawns.

now, i'd like to say something regarding your idea:

    adding weaponry to survivors.

DbD, as a game, is not build around survivors fighting back to the killer. its not ment to be played like that, you eigther avoid the killer or you die - you have no chance of standing up to them.

if your idea would just get implemented in DbDs current state, it would literally break the game. Survivors would become untouchable for killers and i can imagine a major part of the killer community quitting this game for good. DbD would turn into a bully simulator - dont believe me? go look at some footage from "Friday the 13th the game", this game had exactly that - but it was also centered around that mechanic. if in F13 the killer cought a survivor, they were dead. there was nothingn the could do, once their weapons were used up the killer instantly executed them on the spot. DbD doesnt have that, in DbD the killer places you on a meathook with different sacrificial stages. this gives survivors a total of 3 lives.

now imagine a DbD killer going through all the struggle Jason has to go through just to down one person and then not even being able to kill them, just hook them and take down one of three lives they have. that would be very unsatisfying for the killer and very very VERY much broken for the survivors, as it would stall the killer by so much longer - and give the game a 1v1 potential, which shouldnt exist in a 4v1 game.

cause what are the other 3 survivors gonna do while that one dude stalls the killer? gens. with your idea of fighting back, a single down could easily mean all 5 gens popping and the game ending with a 0k for the killer - majority of the time.

killers in this game already struggle against good survivors, giving them even more chances to fight back would require you to give killers massive buffs - and probaply kill the game in the process, just like F13 died.

    TL;DR:

if you want to be able to fight back against the killer, play a different game - such as Friday the 13th: The Game. DbD was not designed to give Survivors the ability to fight back, you are ment to avoid the killer and not 1v1 them.

you gotta understand that the killer is also a player that wants to have fun and not a bot you can bully all you want without any reaction from their side whatsoever. making the game miserable for them is gonna drive them away from it, killing DbD.

and most importantly: please - and im saying this nicely now. there will be people however that are not gonna be as nice as me - dont talk about balancing of this game when you are clearly lacking the experience to understand the most basic mechanics. survivors have all the tools they need to win a game against the killer, if you cant use them that doesnt mean survivors gotta be buffed, but rather that you need to learn how to use them efficiently.

instead you could ask others for advise.

also, there are a lot of great guides out there on how to efficiently play both roles - if you want to you can give them a read.

I disagree. I have experience on both sides too prestige 3 lvl 50 character and the rest are lvl 40. Killer is lvl 50 haven’t prestiged, I main Plague. I Also see red and purple survivors in my games while I’m at rank 10 killer. But I can tell you I 3-4K almost every game. Like 4 out of every 5 games. I think this game relies too much on someone running the killer because it’s TOO easy to be found. So I can understand why people get frustrated. Getting good shouldn’t mean one person running the killer for 10 minutes. Because killers are actually getting better at cutting chases too short. One hit downs, iridescent head for huntress, speed of some of the killers, lunge attacks hitting you through vaults that seem a bit unfair, lagginess affecting survivors quite often (every hit matters for survivors a lot more than killers Bc killers recover so fast). I just think you spend all this time loading and queuing up for a game that seems short lived as a survivor most of the time. You wonder why people DC often playing survivor because you’re not giving them a fun time once they easily get caught feeling like they don’t get another chance. Hooks get camped, unhooked survivors get tunneled and slugged until DS wears off, unbreakable makes up for it but most likely killers just always chase you down again. I’m sorry but the game needs to give survivors more than just a progress bar to stare at until they get transferred to a hooked survivor to stare at the entire game. I enjoy the thrill of the chase but killers are given too much to cut chases short. What is supposed to be 12 hooks a game in most cases turns out to be 4-8. That’s way easier to do than 5 long generators. Especially after the toolbox nerf + thanatophobia + ruin + dying light. It’s just not very probably most of the time you’re going to survive. Which is okay to the extent you’re making the game worth it to people that play. Killers are given too much to prevent people from playing making it not worth it. Swf might be the only chance at consistent survival. But it’s honestly too easy for killer once you get some map knowledge and strategy. I just think survivors should have a better chance at survival than they have now.
