"Discipline" Carters Notes is actually broken
Hello guys
I think Doctor is in a good state right now, pretty strong killer but not unfair.. still one thing really needs to be changed:
"Discipline" Carter Notes
- Considerably decreases the Shock Detonation Delay of Shock Therapy.
This addon is simply broken because it completly denies looping or actually even predroping a pallet. If you are not at a god pallet it is a free hit/kill, just because of this addon alone.
I have to try out "Discipline" Class 3 more often tho so i can judge for this one too, but again, Discipline Carters Notes really needs some changes.

I admit that I haven't played against it, but you should still be able to dodge the shock or doing fakes.

It almost removes the delay of the shock which makes it so strong. I played a match against a really sweaty team today and randomly used this addon.. it carried to hard.

These Add Ons are very strong. I have played a couple of games with them and they might be a touch too good.
In general I think that the Buffs Doctor received with Chapter 15 were not needed, he was already in a really good spot after his Rework.

I agree. No idea why they buffed him again, he was already really good.
Running "Discipline" Carters Notes and "High-Stimulus Electrode" which also got buffed for whatever reason (no more negative charge speed) is simply overpowered.

That addon also causes the constant terror radius and no red stain on the killer,so looping tiles with LOS blockers with him shocking constantly is a death most of the time

You just have to change your timings better before dropping the pallets, nothing more.
You sound like an entitled survivor. You are not supposed to effecitvely loop every pallet. Get over yourself.

I think they should nerf discipline, but the range addons should stay like that. The 10% additional range are just not enough most times and the brown range addon was better than the green one.

The brown Add On was the best, the yellow was still ok, but the green had too much of a disadvantage to use it. Now, without the Penalty, the Add Ons are actually useable.

Why do you think they are fine? Everyone i was talking too (even doctor mains) agree they are to strong, so what makes you think they are not?

Wait, I didn't even realize they removed the downside of the Shock Range Add-Ons. The hell, I mean, I usually think that Survivor stuff is mostly busted but they gave him bonus chase potential with no negatives. That seems stupid. I use Discipline but I didn't realize they removed the downsides of the range AddOns.
I guess we received Omega Doctor.

Broken as in it's better than intended, or just too good as it is now? Either way, while Doctor is pretty balanced in my opinion, I do think his counterplay is relatively close to the minimum counterplay any killer should have, so decreasing that with any addon is not a good idea.
Maybe they could add a different effect to Discipline somewhere down the line. No idea what though.

To be fair most addons don't have a downside, and I wouldn't say the effects of the range addons are that crazy.

As a Doc main I have to say that yes it is very strong but I rarely get the damn thing. I think the thing about Doc is that you kinda have to choose how you want to use his power when choosing your add-ons. I personally don't use Discipline that much. I use Calm and Restraint to help find survivors and to trick them into illusionary pallets during the chase for an easy hit. I don't think anything should be nerfed at all, just try using different combos of his add-ons and find one you enjoy more

It is true that the addon is rare, but that does not change the fact that it is too good. They all should be nerfed a bit. My suggestion would be to 0,05, 0,1 and 0,15 seconds. This sounds silly, because we are talking about 0,1-0,3 seconds but the impact is huge.

It’s because you’re giving up other afflictions. I haven’t tried this out yet because I love using both his Ultra Rares too much. I have a feeling that the Discipline add-on only seems OP because of how new it is. It’s going to take some time to get used to the new shock timing and decide when you should drop the pallet.
The electrodes were buffed because the common one was the best one out of the three and the rare one was the worst when it should be the other way around.

But as a counter point, a good doctor might only need to shock you once to get the hit off. So a delay doesn't mean you'll see the change you're looking for. Just that you won't get shocked EVERYTIME you go to do something, just when it counts.

Out of curiosity how do you manage to get illusionary pallets when using Calm and Restraint, when pallets fall under Order?

I dont know about that 2bh and it depends a lot which loop we are talking about. I experienced on both sides that with this addon (especially combined with a range), you can deny pretty much every loop with 1 or max 2 shocks, even denying pre droping which is actually in many cases a deathwish vs doctor. Maybe it is really the combo with range that makes this so insanly strong.

I mean OP does have a point, but jungle gyms exist, and well, those pretty much negate all killers' powers in the 1v1 chase. Personally as a rank 1, killers like Doc don't seem overpowered, with or without strong add-ons, unless I'm having a bad day and my last few brain cells decide to run to a T L instead of a jungle gym. Best thing to do is to just juke his shock therapy or keep on running, take advantage of Doc being slowed down when he uses shock therapy. Against optimal or even sub-optimal survivors, Doc is kind of a laughing stock. He needs all the help he can get.

That's most likely why it seems so broken, cuz with range he can block a pallet, close distance and get the lunge hit off without much trouble. Maybe a small tweak then. Make it so to use Discipline - Carter's Notes you can't increase your Shock Therapy range. Makes it so you don't have to nerf a useful add-on but also can't abuse it.

It does. Yet the commend I quoted said they used restraint and calm, and correct me if I'm wrong but that's not iridescent king.

I tested those addons, and carters notes without any extra addon is actually not THAT bad (still very strong, but not uncounterable). It really gets nasty when mixed with a range addon, especially overpowered (!) with Electrode.
Dead devs, i know this is just a minor thing and you have probably bigger problems then fixing a few addons, but you still should put this on your list.
In my opinion, both Carters Notes and the range addons need a small nerf. I already suggested the Carters Notes nerf above, with range it is rather simple: Reduce the range a bit.
Mouldy Electrode: 1 Meter instead of 2
Polished Electrode: 2 Meters instead of 3
High-Stimulus Electrode: 3 Meters instead of 4
