Taking the game hostage
I've to write this down because this has to be the worst match I've ever been in on this game. I've had some bad matches but this was disgusting behaviour.
I've just had 2 survivors take the game hostage for 15 minutes because they refuse to do any object or anything other than creep around and avoid me on the PS4.
Just wow! I can't believe 2 players would intentionally take the game hostage refusing to do anything at all other than to troll me.
I've used the in game button to report both players.
I looked behind every rock, every locker and every corner of the game and it took me 15 minutes just to find one of the survivors hiding in a corner. As soon as I hit him he ran away so he was playing (wasn't afk),I chased, downed him and hooked him, he did straight away.
I then went looking for the hatch and closed it. I then went to both gates and put traps on both gates and went backwards and forwards until the other survivors set my trap off. I gave chase and hooked him.
I sent both players a message on the ps4 telling them I would be reporting them.
How can DBD allow players to take the game hostage for this long? I mean cmon.

It's hard to really make a judgement on that without context, because there are situations in which being stealthy and hoping the other person gets found first, as one of the last two survivors, is pretty much the only strategically sound play (for example, if all the generators remaining are very close to each other, or the killer has something like Surveillance active). It's very boring for the killer, but whether it's taking the game hostage is debatable at best.

That sounds like taking the game hostage and is reportable. I think fifteen minutes without doing an objective is the threshold but I’m not sure.

I think after that long a time the inactive crows should start revealing auras and making loud notifications. 15 minutes is just terrible. Had a game or 2 like that happen. Most recent was on auto wreckers with Plague. No one was doing anything not even touching the things I puked on. Almost said fuckit and went to DC but saw an ass sticking out by a wall after about 8-9 minutes of game stalling.

I don't know. I'm new at the game. They was creeping around the map avoiding me for ages. Didn't do anything just crept.
I think they was hoping for me to leave so that they could report me for disconnecting and they could save their rank.
I reported them after the game and send them both a message on ps4 so that I had their names for future reference.

Hello, it happened to me today as well, 2 people decided that it was a good idea to just hide and do no objective at all for like 45 min. The inactive crows didn't work cause doing emotes actually counts as actions, so that is why this killer could not find them.
Does anyone here know where to send the proof of it? I think that emotes being actions counts as a bug, and using it to make the killer actually ragequit made me quite angry for them myself while I was watching.
If anyone knows I wanna make sure these 2 get what they deserve(if that happens).

I think it's impossible to say if they were taking the game hostage or were just newer players who were scared and trying to survive.
I was in one game, as a survivor, and one of the other survivors stayed in the basement for most of the game. He had mentioned in the pregame chat that he was getting killed a lot and didn't want to get killed that game. i assumed that he was going to play safer, but apparently he thought hiding was the way to go.
To be fair, he did come out a few times to unhook people, but then went back to the basement to hide. Unfortunately for him, when I, the only other survivor left, got hooked the killer knew exactly where he was.

This game wasn't like that, they were clearly griefing, even had the Pebble perk to create noise and confuse the killer.
They stayed most of the time, from game start, to end game, hidden. Saved me once, then gave up cause I was the only one doing gen, since my 4th teammate killed themself.
I honestly want justice for this killer, after 45 minutes I would have disconnected as well tbh. Also one of the survivor was a rank 4 and the other 9 (clearly not new players)
So yeah, if anyone know how to send proof or do something about it, pls tell me cause I never did this.

OK, yeah, that sounds like hostage taking to me. I seriously don't get what anyone would find fun about doing that.

Stillness crows need some changes. Imo, after two minutes of not touching a gen or a totem, Stillness Crows should appear. Nobody likes one survivor waiting for the other to die so they can get hatch.
Ironically, in this scenario, SWF is easier to go against, since they wont do that to each other.

Every time I see this happen it's because The Killer was extremely toxic. Including camping and hard tunneling so don't be surprised when you ruin the game for other people that the participants left in the trial are going to try to ruin your experience by wasting your time. This is a general you, I don't mean you specifically since I don't know the context of your match.

How about they put a timer on you to find the survivors and if you don’t you lose? How are you going to blame the survivors? To be honest I think they need to slow down some of the killers ability to patrol gens so fast. If nobody wants to get caught because you’re running a Mori how are they to blame? How are survivors supposed to have fun with this game when they have such little opportunities to keep playing with tunneling, hook camping and moris? Maybe they’re not teamed up. Report them 😂 that’s childish.

I remember mine. Was on Old Lerrys, maybe eight or nine months ago. Was playing Nurse, had two survivors left. Couldn't find them, as they weren't doing gens. Match went on for 45 minutes. Finally found one getting into a locker too slowly. Grabbed, hooked. In post game chat, apparently both wanted the hatch, but wasn't willing to let the other have it. So, I sympathize.

Me in those scenario i dc and i stop playing for the day i know this wont happen again anytime soon but this kind of ######### piss me off and i dont think the report button work i think its more like a decoration XD i know dcing is worst but sometime its the only way if you want to do another game because waiting 5 minute is nothing compare to those 15 minute
