As killer, SWF are not the problem, I actually enjoy them
First disclaimer I play 50/50 killer and solo survivor if anyone wants to shout out “killer main,” or similar. Rank 1/2 survivor and 8 killer although I was in reds before when I played 90/10 killer so again if you wanna day I don’t understand high rank play there ya go. I do play US eastern if that matters.
I don’t think there is anything wrong with even 4 man SWF, they don’t instantly grant bonuses or super powers that allow escapes every game. Sure they have some idea of each others tendencies but that’s meh. Once comms get added in is when things change.
The thing is this game was not built for comms, so as a result comms give “bonus perks,” to the team. Bond, kindred, better together, etc and of course with OoO it’s an unfair game in my opinion.
Im not asking anything to be done, but let’s stop blaming people who just want to screw around with friends. I’ve had some really chill games win and lose with SWF lately, they yell at each other in endgame as much as they yell at me lol. They don’t care about escaping they just want to save each other with flashlights or manage a few head ons... as a killer I laugh at those because I know how fun it can feel as a survivor doing it.
Ive told a few teams lately that I would play them all day everyday, as a compliment. A few 2-4 kill games, a few where everyone got out after a few hooks, but the games and chases were legit fun

People seem to like to say SWF anytime they do poorly. I've been called SWF while solo queuing with others who also claim not to be queued together. Obviously the goal of the game is to escape, but there is a reason there is the altruism category as well, to help others. Even if you are not SWF your goal should be to try and help as many people as you can. The only time SWF is really annoying is when one of them is a much higher rank than the rest, in reds, and you don't play killer much so they try to use the experiences person to distract you for as long as possible who knows every single loop in the game.

Same, we got accused once of SWF because we made a late save and rotated taking hits to help that guy escape... nope, all solo players as far as I know but it was just solid Strategy from having hundred of hours.
As a killer I used to blame every loss on SWF though, it’s easier than accepting that you messed up or aren’t as good as you think.

The issue is there are two kinds of SWF groups
- The group of friends who want to play together
- The SWAT Team
Group 1 is great to play with. They're fun; they get to have a good time with their friends while I as the killer get to go through my normal Killer Duties and stab people
Group 2 is the problem. While this may be anecdotal evidence, I have found that the SWAT Team is usually not only damn impossible to beat since they are in constant communication with each other but they're always the biggest toxic ######### to play again. If there is a cheap tactic, they'll use it and if they get any chance at all to mock the killer, they will 1000% take it.
The biggest issue that Group 2 causes though is that these are the groups killers remember and these are the groups that make killers quit the game because they're not only frustrating to play from a game-play standpoint, they always seem to make sure to rub it in your face and make the experience as awful as humanly possible.
The problem is that I don't know how you could solve Group 2 without directly hurting Group 1. If Group 1 starts getting hammered and frustrated by nerfs, they're gonna quit and now you just lost four players from your player pool. If you just ignore Group 2 though, Killers are eventually just going to say "F*#$ this S$1* I'm out" and now no one has anyone to play against as your Killer pool Yeets out.

I don't envy them either, for all of the balance talk ON BOTH SIDES, I challenge anyone to balance killer, solo survivor, SWF and 4-man SWF on comms. You can really only balance for one and that leaves the rest either underwhelming or OP

I believe Solo survivor is an authentic DBD experience, because it fits the lore. The entity has taken 4 complete strangers and tasked them to work together to survive. And I don't know about anyone else, but I can only talk to people next to me unless I have a phone. And we don't have phones in DBD.
The trouble is balancing the game around that. Too big of a change, and SWF is worse than Solo, and too little makes it the same broken system. And while 2 man SWF may seem like it's not as broken, it certainly can be.
The game needs to be balanced around ONE of those, and I think BHVR needs to decide which one soon, and announce it.

I'm a rank 3 Killer and a rank 4 Survivor
SWFs make me want to scream. Some games against coordinated rank 1s in voice chat are unwinnable, like to the extent that getting even one kill is a legitimate challenge. Once, I spent 5 minutes playing whack a mole slugging an entire time but they had FOUR UNBREAKABLES, 4 BT, 4DS and 4 DH. I had their entire team down at one point and I still only ended the game with one kill

We should probably call it the SWAT team then instead of SWF....cause I notice the same things. It isn't the fact that SWF exists that causes people to lose their #########. Its the fact that as a killer....what do you honestly have that guards your game from information leaks all over the place? Patch after patch survivors get more and more and more information.....which isn't necessarily bad for solo queue survivors, since they can't really communicate with each other anyway. But its tricky, if they take away too much information from the game solo queue survivors get destroyed, which is sad because they're my favorite survivors to face. But if they give too much information, SWF groups and SWAT teams jump to the moon in power. We need a way as a killer to close off on more information. But without it being so strong it kills solo survivors....
I don't have a solution.....but I would give killers more tools to disrupt information, while also buffing the information solo queue survivors get. For instance, buff blind perks maybe make the blind hex no longer a hex and make the blind it gives last 2 minutes. It encourages not tunneling people, and also stops information from auras. At the same time you could make perks like Kindred counter it so you could still see the aura if you had kindred encouraging more group plays without coms. For a SWAT team, a change like this would do nothing, because they always know where their team mates are.
Now if you wanted to mess with the SWAT team, I been saying this for a while, but having a perk or something killer side that gave visual distortions to people who got hit similar to clowns poison or docs madness OR COMBINE ALL OF THAT together with auditory noise so it disrupts them visually and sound wise. This would mess with SWAT teams that constantly need clearer coms, but you would have to figure out a way to adjust the perk so that it doesn't effect a solo player as much.... Maybe a perk that reverses a survivors directional audio on top of that other stuff? I dunno....spitballing..

I say this to people all the time! They say COD has voice chat, well soldiers can have comms like that so it makes sense.
A survivor shouldn’t be able to yell to someone 50 meters away without the killer hearing it too

the problem that u fail to see is that it isnt fun or fair to play kill against. while u may like it alot of people dont cuz of the advantage it gives. while its great to play with friends 100% they need to remove SwFs perks. as pointed out just with comms it gives them over 10 perks vs the killers 4.
