Am I playing as survivor incorrect?
I ask this question because I apparently have been playing wrong for the past three years. I always play alone and never use a mic because I have such bad ADHD, I get distracted to easy when people start talking.😂.
I ended up having to completely turn my messages off, because I was getting a hate message almost every game. The first couple years I literally never received one, except for the first few times I played back in 2017.
I honestly didn't think I was that horrible because I am always between rank 1-8. I used to participate in numerous DBD tournaments and my team always won eachtime. The only reason I am mentioning any of that is because I honestly figured I was always playing correct.
So here are a few examples were I have received nasty messages.
1. Saving a survivor off hook to early while I am doing a gen.
If I am just starting a gen and not even half done I will go for the save. If i am over half done, I just finish the gen then if no one has saved the other survivor, I will. I have received messages telling me to F off and learn how to play because the survivor can wait.
2. Unhooking survivor while killer is face camping.
I run up to the survivor, pretend to unhook the survivor so the killer hits me, then unhook right away so that the other survivor has a chance to get away. I always use BT so that even if they are hit they won't go down. I have received messages about doing this and swearing at me calling me stupid, because I shouldn't be getting another survivor off hook when a killer is face camping.
3. Not saving survivors when it is my last hook.
The only time I will not run to save another survivor is if it is my last hook before I die, and there are other survivors who still have another chance before they die. If it is only me and one other survivor I absolutely go save even if I will die. If there is still one or two survivors left I leave it for them to do.
4. Opening the gate to early.
This one has been a huge problem. Once the last gen is finished I open the gate. I have been told not to do that, but never a reason as to why. I get if a survivor is being chased and gets hit down, and the killer has blood warden I wait or let someone else open it.
My list could go on and on, I am just really looking for helpful tips and please nothing mean. If I am a horrible survivor, please help me become better. These messages are always from another survivor never the killer. I have watched people stream, watched YouTube videos and researched on what I can do to better the way I play. I really don't want to stop playing for good so that is why I turned my messages off.

I don't know. If you're undefeated in tournament play. I don't think that people on these forums are going to be able to give you advice. I doubt many people here have taken the game seriously enough to do competitive DBD.
