Okay I have been thinking... [Shards Discussion]
Main Points:
-Shards should be awarded as Rift Challenge rewards with the bloodpoints.
So.. I looked at all the Cosmetics that I want. Most are under a paywall which makes sense, Devs need money to continue. So I will be willing support. But here's the catch...
This is my Cosmetic Wishlist:
Meg: End Of Semester - 1080 Cells
Claudette: Morning Glory - 675 Cells (Shards)
Claudette: Chalet Getaway - 1080 Cells (Shards)
Ace: Seasoned Gambler - 1080 Cells
Ace: The TomCat - 1080 Cells (Shards)
Feng Min: Happy-Go-Lucky - 1080 Cells
Laurie: Wolf in Sheeps Clothing - 720 Cells
Kate: Winter Wilderness - 1080 Cells (Shards)
Nancy: Justice Seeker - 1080 Cells
Huntress: Growth Surge - 1080 Cells
Spirit: Tattered Tradition - 1080 Cells
Auric Cell Total: 11,115 = $99
Shard Total: 78,300 [For Cosmetics Marked Shards] = About 310 Level Ups
Total With Shards & Cells:
7,200 ($55) Cells & 78,300 Shards (About 310 LvLs)
Current shards = 78,300 - 660 [I currently have 660 Shards] = 77,640
25,220 Shards per 100 Levels.
25,220 × (3.07854) = 77,640.7788 Shards
100 Levels × (3.07854) = 307.854 Levels
So, In my situation I have to pay $55 and Level up 307.854 Levels to get all cosmetics that I want. Or... Pay $99 to skip the grind all together.
So why not make the Rift challenges reward Shards for completing each challenge as well as the bloodpoints There are in in total about 24 Challenges in each Level of a Tome. So.. 150 Shards per Normal Challenge and 300 Shards per Master Challenges.
So let's say 13 Normal Challenges per Level: 13 Challenges × 150 Shards = 1950
1950 × 4 Levels = 7,800 Shards
And 11 Master Challenges per Level:
11 × 300 = 3300
3300 × 4 = 13,200 Shards.
7800 + 13,200 = 21,000 Shards Per Tome.
So we can just play the game normally (using player Level) or do all the challenges to gain a big benefit other than bloodpoints. (Almost 1 Shard Skin Unlock per Tome)
What's your thoughts? Any questions?

Not quite. They can make 100's of dollars off of DLC Packs or the non Shard cosmetics. So this is definitely a logical and needed change to help with the grind.

It's just that I'd think if we wanted something like this, we'd have to show the BHVR would gain something by changing this apart from "it would be nice". It's neat to give a things out for free but there has to be some limit.
Its true that they still are going to be making money off DLC and cosmetics regardless. But I wonder how it would affect the value of the cosmetic in question. Would they lose money because the shard awards is enough to make grinding for shards more attractive than just buying them outright? I'm sure there are people who only use shards to buy cosmetics/killers/survivors but who can say.
I guess they could always make shard awards only something that buyers of the rift pass would get (but I doubt people would like it or find it fair).
I wish they'd through out a bit a shards at the end of season for reaching certain ranks (not a whole lot or anything just something as it only happens once a month). That or just make perks have only 1 level.

They do. Especially if you want the sharts to be in Tomes, not even (paid) rifts.
Ofc not every cosmetic can be bought via shards so not much loss but still.

More ways to earn Shards would be nice for sure.
