It might might just be me and I’m fairly new to Dbd but I Noticed that when my shards got around to 3000 I started to not get them as much so I ended up spending them and I got more shards then what I was getting when I had 3000 so I’m just confused if it gets harder to get them the more that you do get them or am I crazy.

You get shards as you level up your account level. The rate of shards to player experience remains constant, however each level takes more experience to level up until level 50.
So:
Levels 1-50: Faster levels at less shards per level
Levels 51-100: Slower levels, but more shards per level
