Survivors losing their items
I just want to know why this was implemented? Like what problem does this solve? A double standard that killers didn't get to keep theirs? Well, the amount of addons survivors have and have to grind for to even keep up with killers is ridiculous. Not only that, but the Bloodwebs also spawn items, things killers don't even need to grind for.

They are ignoring this question. Since you only need to think a few seconds about this to see why this is a bad idea, I have to assume that BHVR did not put any thought into it.
The only reason I can come up with is to cater to Killers to say "Look, here is a Survivor-Nerf" (of something most Killers did not care for anyway).
So yeah, highly doubtful that you will get an answer.

Survivors only lose items on death. Also survivors don't necessarily need to grind for items because they could find them in chests. Besides if they don't have potential to lose their items, everyone would literally run the strongest items in the game like all the time. What's even the point of having weaker "types" of the same item then.

I agree.
- Killers lose 2 addons per game.
- If we consider that the survivors have a 1/2 probability of escaping, they lose on average 2.5 items/addons.
The fact that survivors can obtain items in play is not an acceptable compensation. There are only three chests, and it's totally random. If we compare to killers, this is equivalent to their powers. The killers choose the killer they will play. For me, this compensates for the depletion of the items.
And to make the situation a little worse, I remind you that if the survivors ignore the killer they will be playing against, the killer always sees the items brought by the survivors into the lobby.
I fully accept that the addons are always consumed, for everyone. But I want free items, in one rarity.
- this guarantees that survivors always start a game with at least one item.
- survivors will no longer have to hesitate to use a rarer item, afraid of losing it.
- this frees up space in the bloodwebs in favor of addons.

Its also funny when you use a white ward and still lose your items if you escape even though white wards text was changed. It no longer says apon death.

Thats horrendously overpowered considering what items can do. Survivor pink addons (excluding iri heads, dont play huntress but whatever) tend to do more for the survivors than they di for killers. Insta heals, massive gen repairs. Killers powers can be utilized to help get kills but NO killer power instadowns a survivor simply by clicking the button. NO killer power undoes a generator like how a survivor addon simply undoes a killer hit. It just does not happen. All survivors really need is a alight bp bump and it will be fine. Not to have free powers at the start of the game for no reason

Because if you'd never lose an item you'd never need to grind for another one. And having 4x purple toolboxes every single game doesn't seem ok to me. Also what is the purpose of their brown to green versions at all.
The grind is also the same for both sides. You want good stuff on a character - you grind that character. If you don't grind that character you risk the chance to lack good stuff on that character in the future.

Are you all high? Items give you major advantages in the game. That is why they are a resource and shouldn't be infinite.
Addons are meant to be consumables. It's not complicated.

Spot the killer main.

Is everyone forgetting that survivors can take a perk that lets them keep their item addons if they escape (Ace in the Hole)???
I don't know about anyone else, but I used to mainly play survivor and I felt a bit OP, being able to use 99% of my item with good addons and keep it for at least several games in a row. Now survivors don't have to worry about 99ing, STILL keep their item but lose their addons instead and I think that's fair. Not to mention the fact that survivors have a perk that allow you to keep your addons as well, and killers have to use a black ward to keep theirs. I think it's a lot better now.
Another thing I would like to mention is that, when it comes down to it, items for survivors are optional and addons for killers can sometimes be vital (in the case of Wraith, Trapper, e.t.c.)! I think the only issue is the point disparity between the two roles, since I can make an average of 25-30k points on good killer games, and I barely top 25k on a good survivor game, thus making it harder for survivors to grind out their bloodweb. The big brain solution, however, is to play killer games to level up your survivors. Problem solved!
Also, a couple months ago I went on a spree where I used Plunderer's Instinct for about 30 games in a row. Ended up with 4 skeleton keys, 4 Alex's toolboxes, 2 engineer toolboxes, quite a few flashlights of the higher rarities, and so on, and not to mention many other items that I didn't escape with. Being able to farm items in matches is pretty strong, if you ask me.

whats also funny is when i would see keys and bring in FD cuz i always full-timed FD and they would use white wards or the purple addon and still lose said item

If you "need" to use an item every game of course you'll lose some.
I rarely take items with me, I just search chests. Never bothered me any, items aren't even needed to win. However, most killers need to use addons, especially at higher ranks. Items don't make or break a game for survivors, but they can for killers.

In terms of bloodpoints those who rotate killers even if they have a main have to spend more.
Since killers aren't just skins it makes sense that they would be viewed differently in terms of the in game economy.
Who knows though maybe it's a step as they are looking to increase bloodpoint gain overall. Thats pure speculation on my part of course but something I would love to see happen.
