The Scarecrow (Rough concept for a killer, give me your suggestions/thoughts!)
I like making things for games I like. New fighter ideas for a fighting game I play. New class ideas for an mmo, etc etc.
I was thinking of a scarecrow type killer, since this game is supposed to be a bit scary, and obviously it's not that all once you get used to it. (Unless you play against like, Doctor or Hag, Nurse or Spirit. In certain situations they still get me to jump haha.)
So, I don't have much for this killer beyond the bare bones basics. Like their power, for instance!
I don't have a name for it, but basically, without getting into super specifics. The map starts with scarecrows, identical to the player, in random parts of the map. Similar to how The Pig's boxes spawn. These scarecrows don't do anything, they just sit there. But, the killer can teleport to any of them (Like Freddy to a generator, perhaps) basically becoming that scarecrow.
But when they do, it's not obvious, like with Freddy. And if the killer doesn't move at all once they teleport, that scarecrow they teleported to will stay as it is. You won't have a terror radius, nothing. Until you move. Once you move obviously, that scarecrow is gone (cause it's you, not a regular scarecrow anymore)
So basically, a killer that always has you on edge, since it could theoretically be looking right at you, and you'd never know.
This power obviously needs drawbacks, which I haven't thought of yet. But I think it'd be cool to have a bunch of duplicates of you, always watching. And when you teleport to one, you can just stay still and keep watching, and jump scare potential prey.
On that note, it'd be interesting if, when not moving for a while, the killer goes stationary, like one of his 'duplicates'. On that note, I haven't thought of any add-ons, but a good iridescent add-on should change your playstyle entirely as that killer. So maybe a good iridescent add-on for this killer would maybe...make it to where you can't teleport, but survivor auras near your duplicates are shown for x amount of seconds?
Anyway it's just a rough idea, just a basic concept and such. I was hoping to discuss a bit cause I think it'd be cool!

P.S: I know my wording must be weird, so if anything wasn't clear, please ask!

I love the idea of a Killer that can great a false sense of safety for the survivors. Maybe we make him Teleport to a scarecrow and can move anytime, but once he does he has a build up animation to give the survivor time. Maybe add a fun Spund queue.
Jeepers Creepers dude dress up as a scarecrow in the movies and maybe you can apply to him.
He might need something else as well to keep him on the level of Freddy and Demogorgon, since they can do more than teleport.

No joke I briefly started last night prototyping something with the exact same power set. Literally a bunch of copies of the Killer on the map he can teleport too.
I think obviously you need to have a limit on how many Scarecrows there are. Maybe 4. You also need to consider how fast he can teleport. If you get to end game it would be too easy to just post him up by the gates and make it virtually impossible to actually open the gates. Honestly he probably needs a start up time and make it obvious as well when he is in what body. Maybe a fire glows in the Scarecrows eyes at first, at least until he moves. Once he moves you can start having the Heartbeat and Red Stain.
As for add-ons I had also thought of the aura's near your extra bodies one. I was thinking another one could be the ability to change bodies while still holding a survivor. The survivor would still be able to wiggle out of your left body but slower, and other survivors could help pull them out.

I'm glad you like it!
A good idea would be, once this killer has 'swapped' with one of the 'fake' scarecrows, and actually begins to move, there's a startup animation, like you said. Something creepy like, it's head slowly turning, a creaking sound maybe?

I dunno about making it entirely obvious. As stated above I was thinking maybe perhaps...once he teleports to one of the scarecrows, "becoming" that scarecrow, it'll stay the same, as long as the player isn't moving at all. ...But if the player does any inputs, including just turning to look or anything, the facade will start to break, perhaps with a windup animation, and creaking sounds.
I just think it'd be fun, for both sides (I'd hope). The killer getting the joy of scaring the survivors. And the survivors having a sense of dread when around the fakes, as a killer should instill.
