Wheres the stuff we wanted from the survey for the rift???
(This does not include anything to do with the archives as they are mainly separate entities. And also sorry for this long post.)
Back around half way through tome 2 you gave us a survey asking what we wanted in the rift.
Where is any of that in the new rift???
You gave us options for loading screens, shards, bp, and other cool stuff (sorry forgot most of the stuff they had put in the serveys list.)
Now when looking at tome 3 all i see is charm after charm after charm, nobody wants 20+ useless copy and paste charms (example, raging lion, alert lion, roaring lion, sleeping lion and waking lion are the same charm just a different shade of yellow or orange). Then you have the outfits or mainly reskins of the same outfits. Hahah kinda makes you think now im saying it the whole rift is mainly just a copy and paste.
You really need a team to just sit through and look at other games battle passes, like fortnite, (dont hate on me its just an example.)
fortnite:
1 unique thing to their battlepass to make it worth buying e.g. pets, toys, wraps, ect..
Their battlepass skins look amazing (most of the time.)
Each battlepass feels fresh and worth the grind.
They give a fair share extra of the currency back to the player.
Now lets look at yours
Dbd:
Most rifts are filled with reskins making it feel un appealing.
Too many useless items, 1/3rd of the tomes are literally common to rare charms that will never even see the light of day.
Theres absolutely no selling point or anything to make them feel unique, 70 tiers for something amazing, something that makes me want to grind to tier 70? Wait whats this..oh..yayy....another charm..just what i wanted..
You don't earn an extra portion of auric cells or even just iridescent shards you even half the auric cells at the start to 25 showing that you clearly could just make it all 50 (its actually kind of laughable how a free game that makes money the exact same way you do with cosmetics are more generous to their community.)
This isnt me trying to hate on the rift as im totally going to buy it as i love collecting stuff but please dont give your community a false sense of hope in the rift and dont just make your rift look like the forgotten memory dump from inside out.

Jesus, give them time, the survey was made made around 3 weeks ago, do you really expect them to add all that was on the survey in that period of time?

Yes it might of been made around 3 weeks ago but some of that stuff should have been in there in the first place and a survey doesnt even need to show that

The OP isn't wrong though. Most of the junk on the DbD Rift has been, well, basic. Props to Ice Hag, Mr Puddles, and the Feng outfit, however. The only reason I've bought both is to support the company. But, looking at this 3rd Rift...it's almost an insult. I know they plan to offer the cosmetics in the shop eventually, but if they didn't, 5 years down the road nobody is going to look at my Jane Romero skin and be like, "Wow, where did you get that???". They're so basic. This is a horror game that takes place in another dimension. Where are all the kickass outfits? I can come up with this stuff in my sleep.
Like....
- 90s Raver Jake. Complete with bustafunk phat pants, glowstick charms, tie dye hoodie, and frosted tips hair.
- Magical Girl Feng. A Sailor Moon-esque warrior of the fog
- GI Jane. From that time she played a commando in a terrible B-rated war movie. Complete with busty top, commando helmet, and army fatigues.
- Pro Wrestler David. Topless David with a wrestling championship belt slung over his shoulder, boxer gloves, and a pair of league shorts.
- Wood Nymph Claudette. A majestic, fantasy version of Claudette where she's become intertwined with her love of plants...literally! Picture like one of those beautiful wood nymphs from Disney's Hercules but made into something more fit to match DbD (And original, of course).
- Wannebe Gangsta Dwight. Baggy jeans, oversized tee, a little bit of bling, and a backwards cap back when he had that awkward phase in high school.
Like there's just so many easy things they can do and we get reskins or basic outfits for the most part.... I wish I could draw because I would totally enter the community contest. But alas, I can't.
However...I'm totally willing to sign a release BHVR if you wanna steal my ideas. I don't need any reward in return. I'll even let you take credit for them.

Frost Lettuce Hag is by far one of the best skins to come out of the battlepass i still think it was a great recolor granted i dont think another recolor could top it also whats with behaviors weird obsession about billy recolors i think they have just run out of ideas for him tbh.

This Legion skin looks like a survivor. There are some clever things in this rift. We may be underrating some of this.
I like the Plague and Claudette reskins. Especially since I haven’t bought either of the originals.

I play a lot and get to tier 70, but I still don't buy the rift pass. Even if I get the auric cells back, the cosmetics aren't worth it for me to put the initial $10 in. Pretty sad, if you think about it.

Your ideas are actually great i would definitely love to see a nymth version of claudette most of all, i would also like to see if they would play into the memes a bit like a roadrunner styled meg, an entity styled nea, even a baby styled dwight which would be funny, the devs get so many cool ideas from the community yet they choose to ignore them most of the time

I totally agree with OP.
The devs show us their talents with the amazing skins in the rift 2.
I thought the rifts would be better and better, the rift 2 was better than the 1, but the rift 3 is bad compare to the precedent.
The rift 2 was perfect : some minor skins, some great skins, half reskins, half new. I think it's the line the devs should follow.
I know the time is complicated for all. But, as long as devs use fans art as skins, I think it could be the perfect time for them to ask more the community to show their art skills.

Tbh i have no idea the game is an 18 yet there isnt actually any 18 content within the game in my opinion

I would love it if they just made the whole rift or at least most of it community designed e.g. community designed outfits, charms, fan art loading screens they could even do icon changes which i would love even more than just charms, i think this would be the greatest way to show how much they love their community plus if everything was fan made just think of how many cool unique designs people would see and instantly buy the rift or even if there were rift competitions and then the community for 1 week can submit their designs then the week after the 10 or 20 most popular designs will be voted on by the community with the top 5 making it into the next rift
Rift 2 my only favourite skin was iceberg lettuce hag and it actually encouraged me to play her because i liked the skin so much the game need skins like this that makes you go wow and wants you to try on that outfit and play that character

As much as we all want that stuff. It was only given to us in a survey 3 weeks ago. That's not enough time for them to implement all that stuff. In fact, Rift 3 was probably already done or near being done by the time they got those results. I would expect some cool changes in the next one.

I don't think so. The rift 3 looks like they made it in 2days to create content and make money in this dark times.. Mrs Puddles and Feng min demon hunter show us some real love for the game, in contradiction with the rift 3

Hopefully, if not im probably going to be done with the rifts as its too much grind with not enough worth.
Tbh the 3 weeks mean nothing because the survey might have been put out then but people have been stating what they wanted even before the first rift came out and it wouldnt of killed them to add in just some minor stuff to make it more appealing.

Mr. Puddles and Demon Hunter Feng were made in a design contest by fans... and we knew they were making the models months before they were put in the game. Be patient and stop acting entitled about it, this stuff takes time to make.

Reading your example about fortnite, it would be really cool if you could unlock a cosmetic in the rift that allows you to carry a vulture, crow or hawk on your shoulder while playing the game instead of just charms.

That would sound cool but they could also have it instead to in the rift there can be different skins for the crows on the map so the killer can make the crows become blue jays, robins, vultures, eagles and ect..
So survivors can put them onto their shoulder and killers can change all the crows on the map which would be extremely cool

Robins would be very good because they could act as a sugar-coat for deception. They look sweet but secretly they're working with the entity and the killer to sacrifice you.

I see at lot of people complaining about the recolors and stuff that they don't think should be in the rift, but your still getting more skins just for $10. They added way more full recolor outfits in the 3rd rift than just one piece, but yall still going to complain about. I'm not telling you guys to buy the rift but it's $10 and you get it back once you finish it. So you can just buy another rift without spending more money. Also, the 2nd rift was ######### in my opinion, and this 3rd rift looks way more promising.

This rift was probably already in development when the survey went live. Hell, even if it wasn't, give them some time to actually properly implement those ideas from the survey.

I think it's worth noting that between putting out that survey and today the entire company had to transition to working from home, and I can't imagine that's easy or ideal.

You realize the rift and tome are different e entirely, right?
Also, why would you EVER expect to get what you want from that? They implimented a BATTLEPASS, which is designed to drain money. Not give people what they want for free.
The tome charms change because they're different levels of the tome. That's pretty easy to figure out.
But if we said we want this on the rift, and its not in the tome, nothing was done wrong. Because they're SEPERATE THINGS.

You're ignoring more simple changes they could of made like adding in the ability to have 1 killer and 1 survivor challenge active at once. Something like that would not be hard to implement.

Yes i do know they are separate things entirely as you kindly skipped over the part where i never even mentioned the tome challenges and its rewards in the first place, also tome 3 is the NAME of the challenges AND rift im not going to call it rift 3 or battlepass 3 like an idiot am i when it actually has a name, the tome charm rewards are also great in my opinion and should stay as is but charms like the lion charms 5 charms that are exactly the same with literally no difference which are in the RIFT dont need to be here.
"Why would you ever expect to get what you want from that?" Its a battle pass its supposed to entice people into buying it so they can make money whats the point of it existing if most people hate the damn thing and wont buy it, it cant drain money if no ones buying it in the first place and if you dont believe me soo many people have said that they wont buy it as its just a huge waste, i mean after the last rift i was even planning of not buying tome 3, the rift just seems to be pushing people away rather than gaining people, which is horrific business wise.

Yes but your forgetting the point theyve had months now to add something, anything to the rift they knew already what people wanted even before tome 1, it wouldnt of killed them to do some minor changes to it

What i wanna know is who approved of these garbage rift rewards. Like hey guys job well done we scamming them Feng/Legion/Huntress mains to buy them.
As Feng Min main i probably will buy it while feeling robbed.
