Looping
So I understand why the devs have a hard time balancing loops. It's probably not easy to make loops mind-gameable while also making sure they aren't just wholly unsafe.
Seems like a fine line between unsafe and infinite.
But can we all agree that mind gaming and bloodlusting are different.
Like, yeah, I was caught at this loop but that's just because you blood lusted me. Not because you outplayed me.
I (personally) feel bloodlust needs looked at amidst all this loop/tile adjusting, yeah?

I'm pretty sure they said they'll remove bloodlust when they rework all unbalanced maps/loops. Alot of maps still need bloodlust, thats why its here.

Oh that's cool! I hadn't seen anything about bloodlust updates. I'm on xbox so we seem pretty far behind compared to everything else lol. Would be nice.

I honestly believe if you've looped the killer enough time to Bloodlust you, hit you twice then carry you to a hook and hook you, you've successfully wasted enough time for the rest of the team to get some of the objective done.
You've done your part.
But in regards to Bloodlust as a mechanic....it's a touchy subject. I'm a Nurse main so I've never benefited from Bloodlust and I've only been playing Huntress for about a month now and her Bloodlust disappears once she throws a Hatchet, so I don't really benefit from it either.
Some killers like Deathslinger's Bloodlust doesn't go away even if he misses a shot, he can just reload and continue his hunt WITH Bloodlust on. I would say some killer's Bloodlust should be looked at. It's not fair to have a killer that benefits from Bloodlust even after missing his shot.

I don't think the solution is letting blood lust overkill the reworked maps and loops though. They need to figure something out.

Kind of the same thing with ruin happened for most people. I PERSONALLY didn't view it like that after some days without it,but they reworked ruin when all of the godloops/everything else was here instead of removing it when the game was balanced according to most. I'm saying personally because i don't have the same opinion but that's what alot of people thought back then when it happened.

I mean, we'll see but from the looks of it, Survivors aren't going to have a whole lot of options anymore. At least Ruin wasn't a core gameplay change (running pop and corrupt were still viable), whereas everything a Survivor really has to defend has been nerfed with no compensation or alternatives given.
Not looking forward to it, but ya never know.

Bloodlust was always a weird mechanic. Well quite unfair in most situations but with a cost of time loss and losing gens. Regardless someone shouldn't get outplayed at a medium safe pallet just because the killer has been on it for a minute and has bl3.
1 -
I guess we just have to "git gud" while remnants of what the game used to be stick around and cause problems for the new game (iridescent head huntress, ebony mori, etc).

Like it or not, there needs to be a way to brute force a down. Bloodlust is that way, alongside window blocks. I definitely think bloodlust needs looked at, but as a general rule if survivors can mindlessly run a killer (camping pallets) killers need a way to mindlessly chase (bloodlust and vault blocking). Neither of these are going to be particularly effective stratagies moving forward, but they both serve a purpose.

Kick the pallet.

I think what they need to do to bloodlust right now is to remove the 2nd and 3rd stacks and only have 1 stack for now. Then once every map is in a good spot, get rid of the mechanic entirely. They're almost there though, they simply need to finish what they started.

Bloodlust has always been a wonky mechanic to band-aid other wonky mechanics. Tbf, the one thing they could at least do right now to balance bloodlust a little bit more is that it should reset if you initiate to use your power. The purpose of bloodlust is to end the chase once it has being going on for a certain amount of time (by ending a chase I mean with a hit). The purpose of a killer power is the same (some killers have double powers that do different things, let's put that aside), i.e. to end chases. It should be either/or for all killers. You EITHER end the chase faster using your power, OR you bloodlust. It should never be both, as in 'I messed up my power, but I'm building bloodlust so I'm good anyway'. Even if you bait your power (examples, Billy feathering, Huntress winding up, Demo releasing right click, etc.) it should reset bloodlust, because you're effectively using your power to end the chase.

Map design for this game is not complicated.
Maps should be relatively small and safe loops should be kept to a minimum.
The problem is survivors have way to much to work with (in most cases).
Even blood lust can't fix trash map design.

Lol, remember when people said that unironically? Those were the days

Bloodlust is like the onlying thing helping most killers win a strong loop or strong survivor who is smart not to fall for mindgames. It helps slow killers as well what would they even do to it anyway?
0 -
And I'm right there with you 100%.
Deathslinger doesn't reset his Bloodlust after missing his shot.
I believe every other killer does. I don't know what makes him so special though.

Spaghetti code
1 -
Yes cuz everybody want to resest there bloodlust placing a trap with hag or trapper only so the survivor can run to another pallet or loop. Or reset blood lust collecting blood as the oni. does it reset when pig crouches. Or maybe when lets say a huntress who is trying to get better at hitting those misses her hatches well tuff like u can't use bloodlust and screw your own teachable too while ya at it.
0 -
I think because Deathslinger's gun is not an offensive ability, it cant hurt you so it cant reset Bloodlust like huntress hatchet which can hurt you and count as an offensive action. Of course if he hit you with it, reel you in and hit you thats another thing.
0 -
Nurse's Blink isn't lethal and it resets her Bloodlust.
Clown's Gas isn't lethal and it resets his Bloodlust and others.
I just don't understand why no one has pointed this out, why aren't survivor mains saying anything?
Is everyone okay with this? lol I'm genuinely asking.
1 -
Nurse can hit you after blink = offensive action
Clown gas, actualy you got me there idk why its an offensive action its just slows and cant injure, maybe because the slow its counted as an offensive action but i dont play enough clown to know its a 100% true tho.
0 -
Freddy snares reset bloodlust, although they didn't use to.
As far as I know, Doc's shock didn't reset bloodlust after the rework, but they changed it not long ago. Although, don't quote me on this one.
0 -
Maybe the slow is counted as a offensive action because its able the killer to land a hit (if the killer in range that is). That would explain freddy and clown, and why deathslingers gun still not dropping BL, because the gun does not apply anything, maybe if you have the insta down add on it maybe drop BL but i doubt you even gonna have BL if you hit someone 15+ m away.

You were only able to run from me this long because you can hold 'W' and 'Q', not because you outplayed me.
It's so easy to make Killer lose bloodlust, and it's entirely brain dead to play ring around the rosie around a pallet. There are guides online to help you get better at playing survivor, if bloodlust is your biggest issue. Try setting up a mouse and keyboard for your xbox - that's another issue your gonna have being a console player.

I can’t wait for more dead zones fun fun fun :) might aswell remove the run button make us walk around so the killers can get a easy kill, bless these poor people that complain about being “ looped”
3 -
I'm not a fan of him either.
He's ANOTHER reason why I stopped playing the game a lot less than I used to.
Everyone uses the same build, Monitor and STBFL.
2 -
So why does survivours at red rank always run, Adrenaline,DS,Borrowed and Deadhard or other exhaust perk? The first 3 never change the last exhaust that change only. Why? Because its working. Why would I use perks that does not help me? Use insidius? PWYF? NOED? HMT? or any other useless perk? Please tell me why change a build that works on him fine to a perk where i make myself suffer? Why not talk about the holy trinity of survivour perks? You cant call out a build on 1 end and say there is nothing on the other end.
0 -
I'm a survivor at Red Rank.
And I don't use Borrowed Time, Adrenaline, nor Deadhard.
I see 1 Adrenaline user.
Not 1 Borrowed Time user.
And not 1 Dead Hard user.
Your accusation is invalid.
2 -
Not invalid, i ran into 3 survivour out of 4 using these perk's 7/10 match atleast, you got those survivours who dont run crutch perks, admirable really, i like these survivours who can actualy play the game without crutch. But the rest cant. Just yesterday ran into 3 head on, 3 DS and 2 Adrenaline with 2 BT in a single match, and found more lately. I dont mind but kinda annoying.
0 -
DS is nearly mandatory nowadays cause I see most killers straight up tunnel the crap out of people if there's 0 having that perk, and neither do I play with "crutch" perks as a solo survivor and still gotta deal with cheap and straight boring gameplay tactics coming from killers.
We survs don't like seeing the same ol' freddy with pop/ruin/bbq and BS, it's boring and both parties have got their own annoying stuff, doesn't mean everyone uses it, but it's common to see and it denies the possibility of branching out to new perk builds.
2 -
Well yes, thats the problem. If it works why change mentality, the problem is the killer's need these perks to even buy a little bit of time before every gen pop. Maybe after the map changes where the gens are easier to patrol and loops not that bad, killer builds can change with it. I dont think MAA will be gone from Deathslingers perk build because its very usefull but SBFL can leave it. I even run sometimes make your choice and its funny with Nurses + MAA that you just walk back, they are healing and just reel in the healthy one and down them. But without pop these days gens are too fast.
And BBQ its honestly a must have for the BP, aura reading is nice but since lockers exist and survivours can count to 4 and just book it to the other way its not that big of a deal. Ruin a hit or miss since you can take care of it easily.

Bloodlust is a cool feature, and you lose it if you lose chase,I think it only makes sense if you loop the killer long enough without breaking chase,to be able for him to catch up with you.
1 -
Oh I totally agree. Shouldn't make the game brain dead easy for survivors but also not that easy for a killer to just run in circles until the game says you did good enough and deserve a hit/down on a survivor for doing ... nothing?
Again, there's a fine line of balance for either of those potentials happening. I do feel bad for the devs.
But bloodlust should be definitely looked into if they're going to be shortening loops. All too often after they made all those unsafe pallets on Badham and other maps I'm just getting blood lusted down. (I know I should get a pallet stun for distance but I always get hit through pallets during a stun so what am I to do lol) Some killers do make some good mind games on those pallets, and I do feel outplayed and deserved to go down, but more often than not I just get bloodlusted.
0 -
First off I just wanna say you dont even know how I play so how would you assume I do not outplay killers and solely run in circles around a loop then just move to the next one? Lol. But anyways, bloodlusting is a big issue because brain dead killers use it when they can't figure out what you're doing? It's becoming increasingly difficult to break LOS when there are so many dead zones in maps, of when the killer is in BL2 or 3 and you're not able to run away anywhere. I play survivor fairly well. I do not need a guide but thank you for your input. Maybe direct bloodlusting killers to a guide? :)

I also hate deathslinger. I hate watching videos of him, I hate going against him. Literally never a fun match when it's him. Extremely boring and 0 dbd feel.
0 -
If you read their comment again, they didn't say that meta survivor build was okay. I didn't see them mention any survivor perks at all. You don't know what they run.
Please understand that calling out something bad/annoying/OP does not equate to them saying DS, DH, BT, etc. is okay.
Calling attention to one bad thing is not saying another is okay.
0 -
Thats the problem no one talks about how not okey survivours "meta" Holy trinity, but rains down firey inferno on almost every decent "OP in their language" killer perks. NOED? can be destroyed, Ruin was needed to stop gen rush, and even going so far i seen a guy saying bamboozle was broken, BAMBOOZLE!! Yet i see no one talking about yeah maybe adrelaline gives too much, maybe borrowed time kinda dumb at end game. Yeah i see DS everywhere but thats all DS this Ds that.
Its just kinda annoying after a point to see every killer perk "needs" nerf to this community but god forbide if they gonna touch 1% of the gen speed or any survivour perk.
0 -
I see many people complain about survivor meta perks. More often than complaining about killer perks. Nobody asked for ruin nerf. I'm a survivor main and I was upset about ruin nerf and I also hate survivor meta perks. It makes for very boring games when everybody runs predictable meta perks.
You're only gonna see what you wanna see though.
0 -
You are right bloodlust finish once ypu hit a survivor so if your hatchet doesnt hit a survivor you should keep with bloodlust :)
0 -
Nope, you're wrong. It's extremely easy to force a Killer to lose bloodlust, you're just bad. You can find guides online, and in youtube if you want to get better at escaping the Killer. Either that or continue to complain on the forums instead of bettering your skill at the game.
