DC penalty is bullshit
I have been disconected from matches 2 times now due problems on behavoirs end, bugs, game crashes etcetra. and i suddenly have to wait 5 hours to play this game again, it doesnt make any sense. getting punished for the game not working

2 DC's is a 15 minute wait time.
1 DC is a 5 minute wait time.
How many times have you DC'ed to get a 5 hour ban?

If you get a 5hr ban, then you DCed, or in this case kicked from the game, more then twice.
DC punishment is no BS. DC got abused and made the game annoying for the rest of the players. So stop crying and don't DC

i know it works against dc but i did not dc, the game itself crashed the first time, and the second time i just mid match appeared back into the lobby with a 5 hour wait time

2 DCs wouldn't make you wait for 5 hours and I've played lots of matches in the last week or so and haven't been disconnected from the game once. Stop justifying ruining the game for other people.

If you've really only left a match twice (for any reason, intentional or unintentional) since the DC penalties were enabled, and you believe the 5-hour penalty was therefore an error in the system, I would advise reporting it as a bug here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/bugs

DC penalties are absolute BS when a game-breaking bug happens, which I've seen already 2 times forcing one of the two parties to DC and deprive the points.

Do you mean game crashes? Because there's no way to differentiate between someone's game legitimately crashing and them manually closing it. Or disconnecting from the internet. It sucks, but if you only added the DC penalty for actually clicking the 'leave match' button then they would just... Well, close the game or disconnect their internet.
Or apparently suicide on hook. Still waiting for the killer to be allowed to beat themselves to death in a locker door.

If you're on steam, look into 'family share' for your computer.
If the devs can't fix their rank up errors and random disconnects, then the player base will just have to manage it themselves.

they never said that, so the one spreading lies here I think is someone else.
They said that dedicated servers were the only way to understand who was the one that DC'd (for whatever reason).

I was strongly against DC bans due to frequent crashes i had in game. However since its enabled I haven’t got any time out because of them. Plus the ban system cut down DC number substantially. So either you encountered some rare bug or you dc more than you realize.

If the game fails to load, there is no DC penalty. What does happen is players games bug out where they’re immobilized. They don’t die in EGC, etc. The only way past that is to DC, which BHVR does not have a system to differentiate.
For OP to have a five hour ban from this is for sure disingenuous somehow.
