How to nerf self-care.... Hear me out

I already hear survivor mains typing away about how killers are wanting to much. First off, i am a survivor main too. Second off, the nerf would help balance the odds evenly. What if on self-care, it had tokens? Each level of self-care has an extra token, with the final level having 3 tokens. You consume a token every time you heal yourself. Sounds simple to me. Besides, 3 chances to heal yourself can be plenty in some cases.

I see survivors complaining about Self Care FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR more than Killers. There doesn't seem to be any need to nerf Self Care at all.

I can't speak for everyone as this is anecdotal but it's very rare that I need Self Care more than three times in a match (if I do, it's usually because the killer at that point is toying with the group or maybe just farming).

People would just bring a medkit instead of selfcare especially when they have it on Level 1 or 2.

People are already doing that at the moment to free a slot for other powerful perks (DS, Adrenaline, DH, BT, Iron will, Unbreakable..) so I wouldn't want to encourage that.

Selfcare can atleast benefit the killer because of Nurse's Calling or if the survivors waste time with it, that won't happen with the other meta perks.

Self care is already a bad perk, don't make it any worse. You need 40 seconds to heal with self care, almost 1 min if the killer has sloppy and thana. I usually bring a yellow medkit with 2 brown addons so i can heal myself 2 times faster than being healed by others.

Imo selfcare is just a waste

I mean if you are really worried about self-care you could run nurses calling?

Worst then ppl using self-care, is the ppl that want it nerfed. come on man! its already 2020, everyone should already know Self-care is garbage by now

How about exactly as described, but giving 10% speed boost per stack? Fluffwise kinda exhausting you when you have to selfcare 5 times in a trial. Starting with 80% and going down to 50% when used too often. Would like to hear why it was nerfed from 80% to 50% in the first place, but I think the reason for that would be adressed by this change as well.

And would need to be progress based like Second Wind, not "finish" based. Would be bad in both scenarios, when getting healed 99% and need to tap yourself losing a token for bad luck, or when healing 99% getting tapped by someone else to save the stack.

It should be buffed but ok. Self care is only useful for solo, since swf only rush the gens like crazy

If you think self care is overpowered you're honestly bad and there is no nicer way to say that.

Self Care is a good perk for new players, it teaches them to be self reliant. But the longer you play the more you realize how bad self care actually is. Twice as long as a medkit or a player healing you, you both have a better chance at finishing a gen before anyone heals you. Otherwise you're doing nothing for the team and expecting everyone to heal you for it.

Not to mention that's one less perk slot for a second chance perk

Lmao MORE healing nerfs? What do you want to happen? That even the potatoes stop healing in the corner of the map and just pump rush gens with resilience?

Is anyone using Self Care more than 3 times in a single match anyway?

As a killer main I have no difficulty with self care...it doesn't need a nerf....

In fact...I love survivors who take it and waste time. For 1 health state that I can go back and down them quickly anyway, it doesn't change the outcome.

I hate saying this but....you need to git guud or go carry sloppy butcher.....

So nerf the perk that let's you heal yourself in 32 seconds or longer and makes solo queue somewhat less painful?

Self Care is one of the strongest killer perks in the game. No further changes are needed.

yes, I called it a killer perk. Once you got more than 10 hours in the game you will understand why.

I actually like if all Survivors perks more powerful but limited use, like you have to calculate your resources.

But I think if make self healing faster with 3 tokens, Im afraid it will be more powerful than Ranger medkit with charges addon. Since Survivors' items are mean to be powreful but limited.

Nah, I could start a counting, but I would guess like 50% of survivors in my purple/red ranks use it

You suggest a nerf when the perk is not even strong. There is a better perk for healing (Nancy I am looking at you).

you are the only killer to ever complain about self-care. Self-care might as well be a killer perk with how bad it is. This is a joke right?

Referring the "everyone should already know Self-care is garbage". Pickrate denies it. Should be a joke. We don't need to discuss that

Self care nerf? What? One of the worst perks in the game at the moment. Self care is for rank 13-20 players. How about nerfing boil over because it's a bit OP. Lol.

So you wanna nerf a perk which is already nerfed and makes survivors not prioritize their objectives, making it one od the worst survivor perks...

Nonsense. Self care takes too long as it is. It’s already a disadvantage. There are much better perks like bond that allows you to find teammates and let them heal you. I’d rather run that. But self care does have its usefulness

i wish the survivors i went against used selfcare, but sadly they dont they will just do gens injured, use a pretty good medkit or someone will be running god damn we`ll make it. Honestly if survivors use selfcare theyre making it easier on the killer, that person is healing for about 40seconds, thats half a gen and getting injures is so very easy plus if you have any add-on or perks to inflict mangled etc. yeah its taking even longer, selfcare is a terrible perk at high end skill because it wastes time, takes up a perk slot and usually means that person isnt confident enough to me active while injured. if i see a survivor selfcare each time i hit and leave them then i shall make sure i keep hitting them and dropping the chase, they will think theyre doing okay staying alive but ill be using that wasted time to chase others, get hooks and more stacks for thana. But sadly all i seem to verse is DS,BT, then a mixture of DH,Unbreakable,Sprint burst, well make it, adrenaline.

why would you nerf this perk, it's an okay, or good perk in solo if you expect potatoes, so it dosen't need any change at all, to be faire not much perk need change expect maybe DS arguably wich is 10 time stronger then self care.

so i think self care is fine

I seen survivors chew out their own team mates for self caring. One person had a issue with it, due to someone not going to save them. When they where already two team mates doing that and the self care user was finishing up the last gen, with a speed boost from resilience. Than heal up to full before going to a exit gate, due to no nearby team mates. With that single survivor who took an issue with the self care user, being the only one who died in the end. For their issue was, not all three survivors were coming to save them and one of them was finishing up the last gen and taking the time to heal up, rather than wondering around injured against a ghostface to personal save them. When 2/3 of the remaining team, was already trying to save them from hook.

That and sometimes you get the survivor who will start self caring right in front of a team mate. Rather than let the team mate heal them, which would be faster. Which i mostly seen from new players. Yeah sometimes self care is used in questionable ways but other times, even if used wisely, you will still come across someone who will take issue with self care for merely existing.

Sloppy butcher goes very well with nurses calling. Always fun sneaking up on a person self caring in a corner or behind a wall. While under the effects of sloppy.

Omg! this is such a big buff to Self Care. Thank you OP for such a wonderful idea! Would love for my survivor teammates to only be able to use it a minimum of 3 times. Can we make it 2 with a 60% healing speed?

It's not that great of a perk.

As killer, I'd rather the survivor has Self Care over a whole bunch of other perks. ESPECIALLY if I run my favorite combo of Sloppy Butcher & Thanataphobia. Yummy yummy, survivors in my tummy.
