PWYF Rework Idea

Losing a chase with the obsession grants a token. (Same 10s cool down between token gains)

Each token grants 3/4/5% movement speed up to 3 tokens.

Upon putting a survivor into the down state, all tokens are lost. This applies to interruptions and lockers as well.

This completely changes the use of the perk. Instead of gaining stacks on a 1hit down killer such as Billy/Leather/Myers. It becomes a pressure tool for all killers. Particularly slower killers such as the hag and huntress, allowing them to pressure gens easier. This turns the perk from a killing perk to a pressure perk. Allowing the killer to injure survivors and pressure gens without stack loss. Of course the moment the killer turns on the heat with a down, stacks are all gone.

Keeping in mind, gaining all 3 stacks takes a BARE minimum of 30 seconds assuming they find the obsession AND if they time things perfectly. Which means the killer will have to be wise about when to start downing people, as all stacks are lost at once.

It remains a high skill cap perk, but with a genrush meta, I think this would be more useful to slow things down a bit.

Whatcha think?

Agree, it would make the perk more viable at a glance, i'd love to see this in testing

I'm gonna be honest, that looks broken... Facing a 130% MS killer in chase isn't fun, even if they lose it after the down.

But, you never know, it could work in testing. They should try it in the next PTB.

Seems like a lot of work to lose all stacks. You have to find your obsession three times to get the full benefit, only to lose it on one down?

There is a reason why PWYF is more of a weak Perk and that situational. Dont mess too much with Movement Speed, NOED is also strong because of those 4% extra Movement Speed, which makes some Loops obsolete already. Having 15% extra Movement Speed until a Survivor is downed would be too much.

I don’t think it needs a rework. Couple it with nemesis and you have a 5% speedboost for each stun. Also I think it would be annoying if killers just do the hit an run tactics with the speed of a train. Especially Wraith.

It's not hard to find the obsession, you just eat a pallet with nemesis. The combo is guaranteed downs, and is pretty efficient on 1 shot killers. How is it "high skill cap" perk?

Yes, kinda broken. Sure, it takes 30 seconds to build up. But what happens after that? A really short chase which isnt really counterable by the Survivor. A Killer that walks 30% faster than the Survivor catches up in no time. If we didnt have Nemesis, it wouldnt be completely broken. Just broken against 1 Survivor, and that Survivor will have a bad time, like old Dying Light.

The perk Alone doesn't seem to be worth it. Because you Will be wasting your time to find the obsession a lot of the time. However it seems to be broken combined with nemesis.

I like it. It would make the perk viable on more killers than just the typical leatherface build...

No, you can't buff a perk that can increase movement speed by upto 15%, that would be too broken. Don't change PWYF, it's perfect the way it is.

Nope, GTFOOH with that. more survivors trying to nerf killer perks and abilities.

I don't really like perks and abilities that have little interaction between survivors and killers. Increasing move speed is a way of decreasing that interaction because ######### is a survivor gonna do against a killer moving at 130% move speed? This would also be quite broken at the end of the game if you could just patrol 3 gens with this speed...you could almost consider it holding a game hostage if the killer wanted to do that
