NOED/Endgame rework

I posted this before, but I worded it badly and it didn't get traction, so I decided to try again.

NOED is a weird perk. In theory it's a perk that wastes an entire perk slot until the end, and is really strong once gens are completed, high risk/high reward. However, it's turned into a perk that a lot of bad players rely on to get kills when the gens are powered.

Survivors also don't have anything to do other then gens. NOED is a threat, but it's not guaranteed to be in every match, so a lot of survivors just don't do totems. My idea would address both of these things.

NOED is no longer a perk. Or it gets reworked into something completely different, I don't really care. That's not the focus. But essentially, the current NOED would not exist as a perk. Instead, it would be a part of the game naturally. Every match would have NOED in it. Several things would change with this, so bear with me.

First, beside the generator count, there is a Totem count. This counts Dull and Hex totems, but groups the two together as to not give away any Hexes the killer might have. Both killer and survivor can see this counter.

Second, Totems reward more points and Dull Totems take less time to cleanse. Survivors can see the aura of totems when 5 meters away, but the killer cannot. Things that reveal Generators to survivors also reveal Totems now, if they didn't before.

Third, there is no Hex totem to cleanse once it activates. Instead, it will remain active as long as a totem remains on the map, Dull or Hex. The movement speed bonus is tied to how many totems are left, 1.5% per totem. Once Gens are powered, the range on Dull totem detection doubles.

The point of this rework is to take a powerful perk, weaken a bit, and make it permanent. This accomplishes the Solo issue where you have no clue how many totems are left, and gives Survivors a bit more to do in a match. Some other things would need to change as well, any perk that revolves around Totems and killers that can guard totems would need to be looked at. I don't know exactly what would need to change about them, but the same thing happened with the inclusion of the EGC. Pig, Remember Me, and I believe Wake Up where all changed. Retribution, Detective's Hunch, Thrill of the Hunt and Trapper come to mind to things that would also need to be looked at. But that would take a lot more, and I don't really feel like looking at those to be honest. Feedback is much appreciated.

As much as i want to like this i feel like a guaranteed NOED could have some problems. All i'm thinking in my head is a wraith just standing over his last thrill of the hunt totem not letting anyone cleanse it or chasing anyone and the survivors not popping the last gen so they don't NOEDED. Granted, keys kinda solve that issue but still a lot would need to be tweaked.

I think this solves a lot of the problems the game currently has. Currently the no heal-adren rush strat is too oppressive. People hate NOED. People want a totem counter.

People would hate NOED a lot less if it was guaranteed because then people would always know its there and know they need to play around it.

Gens would be slowed a little bit by the totems.

Adren rushing is a lot worse since cleansing all the totems will delay your adren heal or its going to be much less effective due to the heal being useless.

I used to think this was a good idea. The problem is, it makes current hex perks MUCH worse. People will start prioritizing totems, which means things like Ruin and Devour Hope won't last.

So because survivors gen rush... You want NOED removed / reworked?

The fix is already there for everyone to see.... Survivors stop gen rushing and instead look for totems.

All your trying to say, is that you want NOED removed, so a survivor can freely run the killer around the map after the gens are done, doing the loops whilst another survivor is opening the door. Then the survivor with the chase escapes because the door is open.

It's because once the gens are done, NOED comes into action. The killer downs someone, hooks them and the other survivors are powerless unless they go and find the totems they couldn't be bothered to look for in the first place.

Survivors are way to overpowered right now and this game doesn't need another killer nerf.

If ruin gets any worse I don't think the killer would be able to survive against good team at all.

For starters, I play Killer. Keep that in mind. The point of this is to give Survivors a secondary objective, and make NOED less annoying. The fact that NOED isn't in every game, and that there is no easy way to find totems, means that a lot of Survivors just don't do totems, which isn't very good for Solo survivors going against NOED. Forcing NOED into every game will make people do totems, which improves the Solo experience as well as the Killer experience. With more objectives for Survivors to do, that means needing an endgame perk like this becomes less required, and with NOED being a constant threat, there isn't a situation where you know NOED is coming but no one else does totems. Even if no one else does Totems, a single person could do it themselves, but it would take a while. And if Survivors are forced to look for Totems, that means you aren't getting Genrushed. This allows you to get early-game pressure if you play well enough, and get a good hold on the Gens with perks like PGTW. Survivors are focused on Totems instead of Gens, the early game would become so much better.

I think it would be a good change that would benefit everyone except SWF, who doesn't really need much right now. They can already coordinate Totems, so they wouldn't gain much from these changes. Solo survivors would be able to constantly keep track of how many Totems are left so they won't be surprised by NOED, and Killers will have much better early-game pressure due to a secondary objective keeping Survivors busy. Other things would need to be looked at, Trapper and like another person said Wraith specifically, but it wouldn't be any harder to do then the EGC.
