Whats up with Oni?
I remember him being op on release then he got nerfed . Then he was buffed again. So i assume he s the same as on release or what?

He had a full 180° flick on his PTB and it was nerfed to 90° on release but soon afterward he was bugged where his flick was basically non-existent (I think 30°) and he wasn’t as good as he was before.
Now he is back to his 90° flick like he had on his release. He was only OP on his PTB when he had a 180° flick.

This^. Oni is my new main. The uber flick was an issue of unintended stacking Q and E with mouse. Then they accidentally overnerfed him. The PTB flick was ridiculously op and the nerfed one almost useless. Oni is just in the right spot now, although one can say I'm biased.

IIRC they changed a slowed down flick to a non slowed down flick but with a limited range/arc

lmao you fools dont even know mouse sense affects oni's demon dash flick and you can actually 180 right now and next patch

Didnt the devs say its soft locks at 90 degrees?

"The Oni: Removed turn speed limitation on Demon Strike. Implemented a hard cap on the turn angle during Demon Strike."

So yeah there is a hard cap right now, it was like that before 3.5.0

That's a bug most likely, maybe post that video in the bug forum section, then the devs will hopefully see it. That should not be possible.

the "180° flick" on the PTB is the same he has now tho.
the 180° describes the overall attack window he had, so he could flick 90° to each individual side. uppon release they stated that this was not intended and gave him a 90° attack window, so 45° to each side.
they later renabled the 90° flick to each side, as no one liked the 45° flick and Oni saw very little play.
that means he has the same ability to flick his weapon after a Demon Dash like he had during the PTB, however they removed the additional affect of the A and D keys to his Demon Dash (which was also unintentional to begin with), so he is harder to steer now.
to answer OPs question: he is a little weaker than he was during the PTB, but not by a lot. people probaply just got used to him over the time, so he seems less overpowered.

Also, I remember him having like no cooldown when breaking pallets with demom strike. It was instant and 0.5 seconds later you could move again.

You could do a 180° turn on each side during the ptb, that's what they meant.
It was 180 ° during the PTB.
After release it was 90° both sides which got nerfed to 45° left/right, which made Oni garbage and now he can do a 90° left/right turn again.
Also, during the ptb he could destroy pallets instantly with no cooldown while Blood Fury was active. He was overpowered in the ptb.

Yeah, being able to flick not only around corners, but navigate around walls was pretty broken... but fun lol.
I think 90 degrees was too much of a nerf, I think that 135 degrees would have been a fair flick range. That way, you can still punish survivors that don't hug walls properly; or if you're good enough at angling Oni during demon dash, you can still pull off a flick around a wall. The 90 degree range pretty much guarantees safety when a survivor runs to the other side of a wall.
