Why is genrushing considered toxic?
It's the only objective to do for survivors. Unless you count opening the gates and totems. I keep seeing people say if you genrush you're being toxic....but like....if you aren't doing a gen, what are you to be doing then?

Because anything that isn't currently what the other player finds to be a wonderful time is toxic. This community can be so dramatic.

Because killers don't want you to do gens. So clearly it's toxic behavior. 🤣

It's not the term "Gen rushing" its Gen "Rushers". The term isn't directed at the survivors themselves its pointed at the fact that generators can be done too quickly. A Gen Rusher is someone who disregards unhooking, healing, anything just to get a generator done. They would rather let a teammate die so they can finish the generator. All the terms are fan made, same with tunneling. It's all lingo.

Neither it is toxic, nor does the term make any sense at all.

Depends on what type of genrushing...bringing maxed out boxes with prove thyself and resilience could be considered toxic because technically it's not really playing the game normally and it's not a fun experience for anyone. I'm pretty sure it isn't considered punishable by the devs though so yeah not technically toxic.
Like Scott says, it's hard to name things in this game that won't be considered "toxic" by some portion of the community. I don't think the word has much meaning anymore.

Depends on what you consider gen rushing. The normal doing gens really fast is perfectly fine and dandy and while it sucks if it happens it certainly isn't toxic.
The leaving people to die on hook in order to work on gens just to get out of the game as fast as physically possible is rather annoying to both sides. There is nothing wrong with not getting someone right away to maybe finish a close gen off but when some people straight up ignore people on the hook just to do more gens instead, that's not fun for anyone.
