title says it all i still get gen rushed no matter what killer i am no matter what map no matter how long chases are. Think they need to tweak them again or (really don't want to say it) bring back ruin. Other opinions are welcome just don't talk trash please that helps nobody

yeah I realized that as well, just one match it almost felt like 3 gens were done the moment I started moving. But from what I've heard a while back was that if survivors worked together on a gen, their progression speed reduce or something like that. Anyway yeah I don't see the game balanced as used to be back before pre ruin

Well yeah, it adds +5% more now per Survivor, but you're still working on it with more people.

    It's not gonna do much.

I haven't played yet, but the change affects the total time a generator can get done by survivors. But it only affects how long two survivors do a generator by like, a couple seconds.

Two survivors still practically cut a generator's repair time in half, which is often enough for two survivors to do generators insanely quickly with one very good survivor who chases well.

I've played the PTB tho, and I will say, its far easier to dish out pressure. You won't feel the immediate effects but with the map size changes and the little bit of gen speed affected, you'll probably have just a bit more breathing room.

Still, we know this is finally being addressed and things are heading in the right direction. Plan out your pressure more accordingly and know who is dedicating to generators. Discordance is a good perk if you're not already using it to know when to disrupt a generator.

Because killers moaned about how gens got done quickly at the start when all or 3 of the survivors hopped on one gen. Even though if you had discordance equipped it would actually help you at the start of a round to find where at least 2 survivors were. They altered it to slow that group progression and so survivors have now spread out as it makes more sense than having the speed reduction. You now lose the benefit of discordance and set yourself up to potentially lose 3 gens in the first chase.

This was the doing of killers who constantly moaned about survivors getting on gens together at the start of a match. Nobody else.

I mean the slight increase in time is in combination with all the map changes. The devs are unlikely to just up and add another 15-20+ seconds to the gens. So don't expect that.

Of course it didnt change anything , we told them it wont change anything but Bhvr wont listen apparently ^^ so i wont bother plus i can't play anymore since they ######### up FPS in the game , my fps dropped so much

You realize the efficiency penalty for two survivors is like, a couple seconds, right? Doing a generator with two people is still far more efficient.

I never had an issue with multiple survivors on the same gen. My concern was 3 survivors each on a gen while I'm chasing the 4th.

Personally I didn't fully complain about gen rush being a problem, but I still believed it was a problem, When I played killer I could barely play any killer, have fun with it, or even get a nice 4k . When I played survivor it became less fun because I'm just working on a gen then when i finish another gens go off around the same time. The game was so fast it was to the point I questioned, was there anything that could've slowed the game down just a bit, or was that just me. The killer never got a single hook. He was not happy and seemed to have been having a bad day sorta. I did what I could to cheer him up but didn't seem to help much. It sad because it feels like every time I play survivor I survive, and I've heard many people say survivors fun, to be honest I don't think so anymore. I hoped they would fix these issues but who knows, it might get better, we don't know.

First, if you get "genrushed" with any killer, its entirely your own lack of skill. Second, the changes arent meant to increase gen times in general, but in a specific situation, what they have mentioned many times.

    MPUK Member Posts: 357

I agree. I always preferred groups working on a gen because that way I knew I was only going to lose one at a time. Unfortunately, a lot of killers couldn't think that way and pushed for nerfs to groups of people working on gens.

As I said when this decreased efficiency was brought up at PTB and someone started a thread on here saying that "it isn't enough and it should have been 20%", no matter what figure they brought in people would want more. Some people are just ######### at playing killer and no amount of slowdown will change that. They are just bad at it. They can't balance gen times around those people. All these nerfs do is make it marginally easier for bad players and a lot easier for good players.

WRONG , if survivors spread you can't apply pressure on every gens.

You're forced to play anti gens perks and that is not normal , if you play with a standart build with nothing to counter gen rush you'll get wrecked (i mean at red ranks of course) .

    MPUK Member Posts: 357

You realise that reducing efficiency by any number makes it less efficient, right?

  • Kakateve
    Kakateve Member Posts: 287

Same. If anything it makes survivors want to gang up on gens even more to test the changes.

I mean, I wouldn't expect complex thinking from you given this is how you interpret things.

  • oh_0k

They didn't change the size of many maps plus survivors are more likely to spread out instead of sticking together making it impossible to pressure multiple survivors at once

  • Aven_Fallen
    Aven_Fallen Member Posts: 16,422

You know, downing a Survivor will create pressure. And this got easier with this Patch.

    @Topic:

Gens going too fast is not you getting "gen rushed", it is you not applying enough pressure on the Survivors. And it should never be a game design that Gens are not able to be finished, it should be the Killer who is responsible for keeping the Gens up.

I played as survivor last night and I couldn't believe how fast the gen repairing was solo. It seems double as quick as it was a couple of years ago.

  • MPUK
    MPUK Member Posts: 357

You mean stating a fact? If you and I solo a gen for 80 seconds 2 gens will pop. If you and I team up on gens for 80 seconds, 2 gens won't pop. It is less efficient to team up. I get you are trying to say a gen will be done in a little over 40 seconds with 2 of us and we may be able to get it done before the killer comes our way, whereas solo we are stuck in place for 80 seconds and at 2 locations so the chances of the killer coming across one of us is increased but actual efficiency is not improved by working together.

You know that going trough all pallet , looping the killer isn't hard at all? Even when i rush kill the survivors there's always one or two doing gens . You cannot stop every survivors in one blink , except if you play slug build.

Maps being more balanced is good. But since Naruto with his shadow clone jutsu is not in the game yet, you can’t be everywhere at once to apply the preasure. Freddy comes closed to that though but you know well what survivors think of him for that.

Except it hard to run agains the clock, even if your skilled. Survivor not only start with the advantage of being 4 and starting the game at their strongest, they also all can run Meta perk that give them more time and prevent the killer of playing in a logical way. Survivor have way more info about what the killer is doing, especially in SWF. Survivor also got the equivalent of BBQ but better and in base kit ( you see downed and carried survivor and where they are hooked, therefore you know the killer location till they hook someone) It take 80 second doing a gens alone with no toolbox provided you don't do great skill check and since there 4 survivor, 4 gens can be worked at the same time (even too most of the time, 3 would be worked on when a survivor get chased) It take 120 second for a survivor to die on hook and the killer can't speed the process in anyway UNLESS he tunnel and the survivor has no DS or Borowed time (Then again, it depend on the survivors to let you do those thing). Killer can kick a generator so it slowly regress, but survivor can tap it to stop the regression and the only way for the killer to stop that is playing Freddy and abusing the hell out of Pop. Chase is way to much survivor sided, the killer can't do much unless the survivor get baited or fail in anyway, meaning the killer can't do any ''good play'' it only up to the survivor to do a bad play so the killer can catch them. Killer power all have some downside that are easy to exploit, and sometime they can be exploited by playing normaly b4 you even know wich killer you are facing.

I'm not sure how behavior math works but if i'm right before the patch 2 survivors working on gen took 44 seconds (without great skillchecks) and now after this patch it will take 46 seconds.

You dont need to pressure Gens in terms of being there. You need to have Map Pressure aka Survivors occupied with other things than Gens.

Let me give an easy example, happened yesterday, vs Deathslinger:

He chased me, 3 Gens popped (he did quite badly, he tried to get me at some safe Pallets with his Gun, if he would have simply break the Pallets, he would have gotten me sooner). Why did 3 Gens pop? Because he had poor Map Pressure, he only pressured 1 Survivor.

Now, I got hooked and a Feng made the mistake of running nearby. He got a down on her and while he came back to the hook, he saw another Feng going for the Safe. So by slugging the Feng and coming back to the Hook, he had insane Map Pressure - 1 Survivor on the Hook (me), 1 Survivor slugged (Feng), 1 Survivor in a chase (another Feng) and 1 Survivor going for the Unhook. This from a Deathslinger who has 110% Movement Speed and cannot be at every Gen.

He won this game, because he played well in that situation.

And this is how you creature pressure - forcing Survivors into altruistic actions, they have to go for Saves. I have never experienced a Team who let Survivors die just to do Gens. And it works.

I wouldn't expect you to. Nobody ever claimed that the 3.7.0 patch was going to be the update to end gen rushing, not the Devs, not the Community, etc. If that was ever your expectation I just don't know what to say

Ok...it's not like the devs labeled it as a major gen speed change. It's just a minor buff to Prove Thyself to help shake up the meta.

  • Kakateve
    Kakateve Member Posts: 287

It is true that games can end really fast in a situation like that especially if noone has unbreakable that could turn it all around, but as you said he played badly and it means he didn’t really apply all that pressure on his own. More like he capitalized on the survivor’s mistake that won him the game (though I don’t think he got better than a black pip) which is not something you can rely on. Most teams would’t mess up in that situation and just save you for free with borrowed. Even that Feng could have done a hook trade at the very at least that leaves you with one on hook and 1 injured. Or slug the Feng and go after you again to slug you also but that a risky one becaude you never know who have borrowed and she could be up easily with unbreakable by the time he walks back.

Yeah If 3 survivors work on separate gens, they can pop 3 gens in 80 seconds.

If they all work together on the same gens, it'll be like 40 seconds each. so its 120 seconds for 3 gens instead if they work together not counting the time running to different gens.

The only thing this update does is makes 3 gen stronger. Until they nerf that.

Gens are a problem, by the way they are setup the deck is stacked as far as the generators go. Map changes i havent really noticed anything yet. But gens? Yeah it sucks
