Fellow Survivor Mains [LETS TALK]
It is clear as day that this patch is.... Eh, pretty bad for Survivors. The map changes were necessary but not the deadzones. Hooks are even more viable due to how open the maps are with zero structure for defense. How do we work around this guys? Lets try to help each other adapt to these awful changes because we know this isn't going to be addressed anytime soon.
Any tips/advice you guys got from playing today? What did you find deemable to compensate for the lack of structures?

Personaly i enjoyed running iron will and urban evasion. It was useful plus combed with spine chill and resilience its a double threat especially with vaults being better now. Though it's just me i found it fun evading and just having to feel like im the charachter And just trying not to be caught.

Windows of Opportunity is in the shrine. Could run it for a week or two to adjust to the new map layouts and see if the dead zones are as bad as they appear.
Ormond is still absolutely full of safe pallets so it’s an easy game if you end up there.
Sprint Burst is a good perk, and more useful than ever now.
Avoiding three gens is more important than ever so maps could be a good shout. Spread out the gens to keep up the pressure on the killer.
Spine Chill will help give you a heads up when the killer is coming your way, giving you more time to run to a tile.

Ah so stealthy build. I like it.
I already run resilience and spine chill together so I'll see if Urban Evasion and Iron Will can help. I like the set-up on coldwind's slaughter house.

what is even there to adress?you do realize this we're much needed changes to balance the maps so they wont be so survivor sided anymore

I have yet to play on Ormond and I run Windows on my Janey 💜 I'll definitely try to conduct some data on if the pallets are actually useless/less of a common tool on the map changes. Thanks for the tips.

You literally just said what I said in my open post. I said the changes were necessary but not the deadzones. Please don't post here if you aren't going to give constructive feedback/advice.
Thank you.

A few more things I thought of:
Playing injured is more risky now, so medkits and healing builds should be useful.
Perks like Borrowed Time and the (hopefully slightly more achievable) Mettle of Man will help to tank hits.
Making sure to spread out hook states will be really important so try to keep in mind which of your teammates have been hooked and how many times, and if you haven’t been hooked yet try to take some aggro.
But overall I haven’t struggled too badly with the games I played post-patch. It’s too early to say one way or the other, but I think people will adapt fine. :)

Considering I play with resilience, being injured is a necessity. I'd probably have to just switch that out with We'll Make It or BT.
But overall, I am also hopeful that we will adapt just fine. In the meantime I was kind of stuck on what to do during a mid-field deadzone chase, thats my main issue as of now. There really isn't anywhere to run to in time to defend against a Killer anymore. I'll invest in Ashe and see how MoM works.

From my experience, i don't see why so many people complaining about dead zone. I didn't see any in my 15 matches as killer in red rank.
I say this because most of the time i only get down when they're looping, not some empty space (Unless survivors used all pallets in that area)
To be honest.. i don't feel any change made in this patch. Map size, tile distance, gen speed, etc.. nothing except god loop

Maybe the dead zones were necessary changes?
I don't really pay attention to if the map changes, but I will always notice if something was in a spot I never saw it being at, I don't know what dead zones are, but somethings are probably meant for the best
Devs are obviously trying to make it easier for killers since well, I know someone will blow up at me, but Killers haven't been getting any love and the Devs are favoring survivors (even though now there is no need to favor them)
I'm going to see the map changes and then update how everything went and how I feel about the changes

For me, nothing has changed. But i played stealthy before anyway, i can juke a killer, but i can´t loop him. At some points not being able to drop pallets to get the time to break line of sight to juke really hurt.
But i keep statistics again with this patch, and while the sample size is still way to small and therefore meaningless and only anecdotal, so far i got an 80% survival rate with this patch.

Pretty bad???? do you know how satisfying it is now to make vaults without getting stucked for a second???

@Angelicus23 @OmegaXII @KateDensonMain21 No offense, but I clearly asked for tips/advice for my fellow Survivor mains that are having difficulties adjusting to the changes. All your posts have nothing to do with that.

Then, my tip: vaults are fixed meaning you save way a lot of more time than you used to be able before, this lets you make more distance with the killer too in window loops.
(Im not survivor main, but I play both roles equally and I'm always red ranked in both roles)
2 -
I appreciate your tip. Does this mean no more slow vaults when running towards a window?
0 -
no, it means that you used to get blocked after a vault for half a second. Now the animation is smooth and you're always running and your character won't stop after a vault anymore.

I suggest to start running a combination of Dead Hard + Windows of Opportunity. Should help you out finding the new loops on the new maps for now.
I've been trying to get my adept achievements for the remaining Survivors and it probably has been the easiest Adepts I've gotten in a long while with how every map is structured now.
It's fair, you can definitely keep the Killer busy for longer, but if you screw up just a bit, you're gonna get hit. That goes for both sides.

The map changes screwed survivors over, but I think the new meta should be focused around stealth as looping isn't really viable anymore. Distortion, Urban Evasion, Iron Will, and either Calm Spirit or Spine Chill should do the trick. If enough killers complain that they can't find survivors perhaps they'll re-balance the game to actually give us a fair chance.

Maybe it's time for Survivors to make Breakout more popular in general. 😋
1 -
I have yet to see the Thompson House but LOL.
Is there really a hole on the stairs??

I heard Windows is great now. I'm going to add Dead Hard to my list of trials for Perk Loadouts. Thank you ^_^ 💜

Stealth is definitely a popular opinion rn amongst the Survivor Main group. I agree.
2 -
I feel the new changes are definitely going to make alot of underrated Survivor perks a thing now. Can't wait to see how creative they get with them. I'll have to look into running a build involving breakout. Thank you ^_^ 💜

aw c'mon, we all knew what you meant.

I really think stealth will be the way to go. A lot of killers already have issues with Blendettes. Make it so that their BBQ is worthless and they have to actually learn to track survivors normally.
3 -
Since switching to killer maining from killer/survivor, since this patch is so killer sided, yes there are a lot of dead zones and there definitely has to be less pallets. I've never had it so easy as killer honestly. What's makes it worse for survivors is that the center gens are almost impossible to do anymore because those gens use to have very safe loops. So now, as killer, all I have to do is keep pressure in the middle of the map and I'm pretty much guaranteed a 3 gen strat, if not 4.
My suggestion to survivors is rush the center gen. If you don't get that gen done, you are screwed.
1 -
Interesting. I do survivor main, but have only done 4 killer matches since the update, and my bf complained about survivors being able to better loop. I didn't do any worse than I normally do so idk. Lol. I'm about to start survivor and keep this in mind.
1 -
I recommend getting the middle gens done first, if possible burn offerings for Ormond. Once you get those middle gens done its extremely easy to avoid 3 gens.
1 -
Ormond seems to be the go to for maps. I have to check it out. But I definitely will keep that middle gen strat in mind.

What you can do since you use resilience and spine chill (so do I) is bring a med-kit and 99 yourself that way you are still injured and can do stuff faster but when you see spine chill activate fully heal yourself. Also, make sure you run iron will since you like to be injured a lot. Finally, I personally run dead hard to extend loops but if you are looking for a way to adapt in the mid-field deadzone is bring sprint burst and 99 that so that when you have looped and used pallets and you run into a deadzone you can pop your sprint burst and make it to a new map tile.

Talking about the dead zones not the vaulting, although I will admit it feels pretty nice😂
0 -
No, before when you vaulted a window you would rubber band back and it would be laggy and all but now they changed the animation so that the vault doesn't lag you backs and it actually sends you further from the window so that you can't get DEDICATED.
1 -
No I think they added a hole so that there is another way to get down because previously there was only the stairs and if the trapper trapped it well...that sucked😂

I'm actually happy for these changes, especially considering how long the wait times have been. The 4-1 ratio is simply not sustainable unless killers get "buffs" like this.
Let's face it, most killers (now) aren't very good at this game and we need them or the game dies. Maybe now they won't be so thirsty for that 4K, and will actually learn how to play the game and stop asking for every killer to be easy.

Why not add killers in for a different perspective? Because echo Chambers with the two player groups are the main issue

Niceee.

Sorry for all of my comments at the end by the way realise i said a lot but just some of my thoughts👍🏼

A few Killers commented some solid advice in here and they are more than welcomed to do so.

No need for apologies hun. I'm glad you explained the vault change to me. You're free to comment as much as you want 😇💜

Typical killer main. Killer Was easy now its easier that every rank 20 killer can win against every surv. No skill needed.
0 -
I'm very happy the infinite loops are gone. Its a healthy change for the game and a much needed bit of relief for killers. But the dead zones......so many dead zones. I don't care how experienced of a survivor you are, there is bugger all you can do if you're caught in these dead zones with nothing to work with. And there's plenty of them, too, in the reworked maps.
The only thing you can do is just try to not end up in one of them when in chase. I know that is easier said than done, but what else can you do?
2 -
The wording of the title was just a little exclusive and that could scare some off

Understood, but the ones who decide to click, view and comment are welcomed as I said earlier 💜

typical entitled survivor main, too busy complaining instead of using their brain

I just played 2 games as Killer. It does seem very hard for Survivors to defend themselves due to the lack of pallets in certain areas. Also the center gen strat is definitely a real piece of advice. I think I'm gonna play a little more Killer now, hopefully this patch will help me get better at it.

Better tactics work better than a playstyle. If survivors know that 1 is on the hook and 1 is down, then you should be flat out running to the 1 on the hook while the killer is busy. All too often, I see potatoes sneaking around from 40 meters away while I'm hooked and the killer is in a chase. Also, knowing killer perks and the pros/cons gives a tactical advantage. Timeouts, distance limitations, and counters to killer perks are online and easily available if you want to do the research. Of course, you could also play killer which, in my opinion, is the best teacher for both.
