Freddy is in a good spot -

Every killer you go up against you need to adjust around there powers and effectively so i have seen people do it.

Plague = Dont cleanse

Clown = Drop pallets early

Trapper = Look at your surroundings

Billy = Stealth is your friend

Freddy?

Here's a crazy thought.... Maybe stay awake by failing a skill check? Dream Pallets and Snares are not lethal and unless he is running rope add ons, you dont get a gen penalty when dreaming. The devs have stated that its not recommend to stay in dream world if you dont need to be in it, Freddy then just becomes an M1 killer with no secondary power to affect you. If you are going to complain about his teleport and pop goes the weasel with BBQ combo, then you are complaining about the killer earning his reward. If you want to avoid your gen getting popped, as soon as a survivor goes down, run away from the gen and hide in a locker. Freddy would need to work that much harder to find your gen and get rewarded with pop.

Ultimately im tired if seeing posts of people complaining about Freddy because they are too lazy to wake up. Yes, you will fall back asleep in a minute, but realistically people woke themselves up in seconds against OG Freddy. Im curious to know who the next killer survivor mains will cry about if Freddy gets gutted.

    The problem with Freddy is what majority of Freddys do. Swing Chains and Jump rope with Thanataphobia, Dying and Pop, while spamming portals in chases.

    Finally i found someone who prefers fake pallet than snares like me :)

    Last night i got so much value for placing a fake pallet at jungle gym. It's funny to watch survivors camp the fake pallet.

    As someone who plays with Object of Obsession, curse you and your fake pallets! D:<

    Seriously, Freddy with Pallets and Snares is like night and day for me. I often run Windows of Opportunity on my Survivor build because it helps to find loops when playing Solo, but Freddy with Pallets just COMPLETELY overwhelms me with information on possible pallet spawns. I will blank out on which pallets are real and which isn't.

    Doesn't make him any less intense though, just means I still need to learn when facing a Freddy who uses pallets.

    Those "Freddy is OP" posts are in the same vein of "Doctor is Annoying To Fight". And while I don't think that Freddy is OP, I agree he is strong and this is my instant thought on the matter:

    They are DESIGNED that way, and it's fine to have strong killers. We need more strong killers to make them more terrifying. This is a SURVIVAL H O R R O R game after all.

    There are also ways of countering all killers, and they're usually pretty simple. Much like A Nightmare On Elm Street, Freddy literally can't get you while you're awake. Just don't stay asleep.

    If they do that, typically they tend to just be wasting their own time.

    You want the Killer to chase you, but if they are busy with someone else, work on a generator, unhook someone, heal them, disarm traps, etc etc.

    If they are chasing you rather than you chasing them, then good, that already basically nullifies one survivor from doing anything useful for the rest of the game ^^

    Of course, I'm only talking about this as my experience as a Solo Survivor playing with Object. I rarely play SWF with it mainly because I rarely play SWF 🤷‍♀️

    To be fair, 1 minute is already a long time when you're in a chase. That's already 3 generators almost done if all survivors spread out. If Freddy manages to not hit you until you are put into the Dream State then that Freddy just shouldn't be at the rank he currently is at.

    Ahh yes. Let's blow up the gen you're working on so that in the next few seconds when your teammate inevitably gets knocked down he teleports straight to you and Pops it. Quality advice. Not to mention you'll be back in dream world by the time he starts chasing you.

    Any clock should be able to wake you up.

    Which is typically why I try to make sure I don't wake up until I see Freddy coming from a distance (I always bring Object), Having 90 seconds with using the alarm clock really makes a difference when facing Freddy.

    You don't really want to wake up whenever you can, you want to wake up when you should. If you can be woken up by other means you should, especially if he isn't immediately a danger to you.

    A great counter against Freddy is staying awake as long as possible.

    Use those watches, or fail skill checks, Freddy against awake Survivors is no more than m1 Killer with no special ability.

    That's not what I was talking about, though I guess I wasn't being clear.

    I mean when you're near an alarm clock, not a skill check.

    If Freddy's coming and you just came out of a Dream State from the alarm clock you have a long wait time before you go to sleep again.

    If Freddy is busy elsewhere, miss a skillcheck or get woken up by another survivor. It's safer that way. You really want to use Alarm Clocks for long chases rather than just to stay awake when you have no reason to be awake for the time being.
