Feng Min's name

What even is her name? I've heard that her name is written the Chinese way, which would mean her first name is actually Min, but at the same time her bunny outfit's banner used Feng as her first name. And is Feng pronounced "Fung" or "Feng?" I'm pretty sure the actual pronunciation is "Fung" but everyone in this community says "Feng." So I'm asking for clarity so I can stop getting her name wrong.

  • Is her first name "Feng" or "Min?"
  • Is her name pronounced "Feng" or "Fung?"
  • If her name is written the Asian way, why isn't Yui's name written that way too?

Also hearing from a game developer or writer would be greatly appreciated so I know what her official name is. @Peanits @not_Queen

The Devs have no clue how to use Min's name, so I'll clear it up for you.

Her real first name is Min. They got it right with her Adept achievement, but that was the last time they did. After that, they started going to Feng instead.

I actually asked one of my friends how to pronounce her name (he's from Taiwan, where they speak a dialect of Chinese, but it's still Chinese). The way he wrote it down for me was "Foong Min"

In the trailer for Cursed Legacy, Yui's name was, in fact, written as "Kimura Yui".

They just changed it in game for... reasons that I can't explain because I have no clue.

I guess it's just easier to say Japanese names either way than it is for Chinese names (Min Feng just doesn't roll of the same way as Feng Min).

Feng Min, Yui Kimura, Rin Yamaoka are all spelled backwards in the asian way. But if written in english, then the first and last name gets swapped.

But it doesn’t make her name Min. Asians say the surname first but still call each other in their first (in this case second) names.

Im 90% sure Min is a surname, and therefore Feng her name. Same with Kimura and Yui. They were probably westernised to fit with how the majority of the playerbase reads names.

    As for pronunciation, no idea.

Thanks for clarifying, hopefully the devs read this so that they can be more consistent with her name and stop confusing people.

I honestly wouldn't hold up hope for BHVR to do it right. They've already horribly messed Rin Yamaoka up far beyond simple repair (seriously, I try not to get annoyed, but that pronunciation in her archive was abysmal), and even if THEY get it right, the majority of the playerbase will continue using "Feng" as her first name. Honestly, like what Kakateve said, it's probably best to use her full name.

Min is her first name and Feng is her Surname.

From what I've heard from friends it's either pronounced Fung or Foong people from different dialects of giving me different answers but it's usually around those two. No I have no idea why most of the community refers her Surname as Fang

Yes her name is written in the Asian way as for Yui they wrote her name the same way in the trailer but for some reason decided to change it for the actual game.

Maybe they thought it was easier to avoid the confusion between that.

Maybe the archives will fix it but honestly I'm not holding out too much hope
